3.35 Sandown: Celebration Chase

Verdict:

This looks a match between Sprinter Sacre and Un De Sceaux although the likes of Sire De Grugy and Dodging Bullets do have the ability to get involved but it’s unlikely on recent form. Sprinter Sacre came out on top at Cheltenham but on this occasion I’m in the Mullins camp and think Un De Sceaux will gain his revenge. This race looks set to be run to suit the Irish horse where he didn’t get things his own way up front last time out. It wouldn’t totally surprise me to see one of the Nicholls horses try and upset Un De Sceaux but I’m not sure they have the pace anyway to do that for long.

Verdict:

Probably one the best renewals of this end of season handicap and it would be dangerous to concentrate on the Nicholls v Mullins battle too much. Both trainers are well represented and could pick up some prize money somewhere along the line but I’m not sure either can actually win the race. My cash is on Neil Mulholland to bring home to bacon, he has three runners himself and has a decent chance with all of them. My pick of the trio is Carole’s Destrier who seems to have most things in his favour, the track, the trip, the going and the jockey so he will do for me at a value price.
