Verdict:

Lots of chances as per usual in this most open of handicaps. We have to respect the Irish challenge with their superb record in the race and the Willie Mullins improver Great Field looks the best of them. He’s a bit short for my liking as its anyone’s guess if he’s well handicapped or not. Paul Nicholls also has a good record in the County Hurdle and I give a chance to his Modus. He has been a bit keen and was hampered early on in the Betfair Hurdle. If things go to plan he could run better than his mark. For my other selection I’m going for Starchitect, the Newbury form is very solid in my opinion and this horse is entitled to improve after just one run with the Pipe’s so far.
