Winrew Posted May 19, 2005 Share Posted May 19, 2005 GOODWOOD OFF DUE TO FOG Racing at Goodwood on Thursday was abandoned with the Sussex track covered by mist. The first race was originally due off at 2.10pm but after waiting until 2.45pm to see if the weather improved, the decision to abandon was taken. "The conditions have worsened and we have had no alternative due to health and safety," said clerk of the course Seamus Buckley. "We had a glimmer of hope around three-quarters of an hour ago but sadly it didn't improve and I am sure and know that we have done the right thing.
