Racing: Saturday 4th September (Including Scoop 6)

Scoop6 – Saturday September 5th Once again we have a Tote Scoop6 rollover this week and the Win Fund will start at a whopping £279,164. Totepool spokesman Adam Smith said “The Scoop6 has eluded punters for over a month now and this weeks bet will be worth well over half a million when the action starts live on Channel 4.” The six races this week are from Haydock, Ascot and Kempton and the feature race is the Group 1 Betfred Sprint at 3.45. Leg 1: 2.20 Kempton The Final of the London Mile starts the ball rolling this week and it could be all set up for Hayley Turner to steal the headlines on Spirit Raiser. The filly is up 8lbs after winning easily here last time and if the visor works again she will be hard to beat. 10 of these are C/D winners and difficult to weigh up how good some of the form actually is. One I do like is Early Morning who was impressive at Haydock last time and has run well here on the AW in the past. At a bigger price Secret Art wouldn’t be the worst each way bet for trainer William Knight. Selection: Spirit Raiser 5/1 Coral (Early Morning) Leg 2: 2.35 Haydock Park The Old Borough Cup over 1m6f and a very competitive renewal to look at. Roger Varian’s Battersea has flattered to deceive the last twice and been well backed in the process, this looks a touch easier so could finally deliver the goods for his backers. Notarised and Oasis Fantasy have been running consistently well in these staying handicaps and are sure to be thereabouts while I like the look of Totalize at a bigger price with Danny Tudhope back on top. Selection: Battersea 8/1 Skybet (Totalize) Leg 3: 2.50 Ascot Godolphin took this last year with Safety Check and run another likely type in Hawkesbury who has been in good form in Conditions races but now probably faces a stiffer task back in a handicap. Fox Trotter was a disappointment last time but was eased when his chance had gone so I wouldn’t give up on him just yet and Suzi’s Connoisseur had terrible traffic problems in the same race and that run can be ignored. Prior to that he was a cracking 7th in the Stewards Cup and has ran well here at Ascot and just needs a bit of luck. Selection: Suzi’s Connoisseur 12/1 Paddy Power (Fox Trotter) Leg 4: 3.10 Haydock Park A 5f sprint and with the bottom two horses being called ‘Seve’ and ‘Ballesteros’ maybe we should be looking for a Golf tip! The 3yo’s look good here and the fancied Maljaa looks sure to go close. An improving sort who was only just beaten at Goodwood in July but made amends last time out at Donny beating one or two of these in the process. He’s up 5lbs but should be able to cope with that. Midlander will set the pace no doubt for Mark Johnston and another one of his runners Indescribable can bounce back after running a shocker at York last time. Selection: Maljaa 9/2 William Hill (Indescribable) Leg 5: 3.25 Ascot Smallest field of the six races but still wide open and Sir Michael Stoute has two runners that are both worth a second look. The top one Dartmouth is improving fast and has been put up 13lbs for his latest win at Glorious Goodwood. He’s won three of his last four now and is the one to beat. Dissolution is Stoute’s other runner and he looked one to follow earlier in the season, his form has dipped but certainly capable if bouncing back. Wonder Laish was pulled out of a race last week but if allowed to take his chance here he has to be feared. He won by 15 lengths at Lingfield and now goes handicapping for the first time. Selection: Wonder Laish 6/1 Paddy Power (Dissolution) Leg 6: 3.45 Haydock Park : Betfred Sprint Cup The big race of the day and a cracking race in prospect with seventeen runners lining up for the £162,000 winners prize. G Force won it last year for David O’Meara and although he hasn’t been firing yet this season he will be spot on here to defend his crown after a break. Of the Irish challenge; Gordon Lord Byron has a cracking record in this contest; he won it in 2013 and has finished second twice as well. He’s a 7yo now and faces a stiffer task this year. Sole Power obviously is respected but wants 5f on better ground and the O’Brien horse Due Diligence has been running poorly this season. This race may rest between the two improving 3yo’s Adaay and Waady. Adaay won the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury and over this course in May while Waady from the same ownership is on a hat trick after two victories at Sandown in lesser company. Jockey Paul Hanagan has chosen the Haggas runner and the hint should be taken. Selection: Adaay 6/1 Betfred (G Force)

Richards Ante-Post bet on Betfred Sprint Cup (3.45 haydock) From last week;

early days yet ....just scanned the antepost market for this race .. eastern impact 99.74 muthmir 99.69 safety check 99.66 undrafted 99.63 gordon liod byron 99 63 at this stage no idea who will make the final decs ....but at initial glance the one who flys out at me is EASTERN IMPACT faheys inmate has been on a rapid rise this season ....has performed at grp 1 level which reads fantsstically well in context of this race ...then dropping to listed lto where he was always doing enough to hold everyone off in the style of a talented horse .....im hoping fahey will see this as a perfect next target as he certainly deserves to take his chances against the best ...and im convinced if hes allowed to run he will hold his own .....im staggered at current odds of 33/1!! .......got to play an antepost run at that and hope I get a run eastern impact 5 pts ew 33/1 bet365
