Weekly Naps Competition, Day 7, Saturday 8th August 2015

Recommended Posts

3.25 Haydock Park A Listed contest over a mile and not much between a few of theses on official ratings. Yasmeen comes out just about on top for the John Gosden yard. She was a good second at York in a Listed race and was then last of eight in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Ascot. This is much weaker and will also appreciate the better ground compared to her last run when fourth to Evita Peron. Pelerin is worth a second look for the Botti camp, things just haven’t worked out this season so far but has plenty of ability. Selection: Yasmeen 8/1 Coral

4.55 Redcar : Classic Seniority @ 25/1 skybet win thanks Classic Seniority.....from Mrs Marjorie Fife yard the 3yo had 17tn races to date and so far he's won three times at 6f on firm ground and on the all-weather the first win coming on Turf and AW as 2yo last year , He's managed a another win on AW four races back but the next three runs on Turf only seen a 3rd place with his ratings rising 5lbs since that win , After the two bad runs the marks down to 78 only 2lbs above his last win and see the going ideal for him with David Nolan in saddle for first time, With this being a local track for yard could spring a surprise win to keep run going each year a win on AW and Turf ,

R4.55 Mishaal 25/1 Bet365 This one has been running in higher classes since winning a class 4 at Kempton and this is it's first race back at this level since that win. The horse is seen as an All Weather performer but its 5th of 24 in the Bronze Cup at Ayr shows that the horse can perform on turf. Since that victory at Kempton, the horse just failed by a neck to win a class 2 event and clearly has ability on a going day. Should get the decent gallop the horse needs here after finishing last in a 5 runner race last time out, but as a result this inflated price is available today. If this doesn't win, I'll be looking out for Bluemals selection (Classic Seniority) which also looks hugely overpriced.

5.20 Lingfield: Nursery, Class 6, 6f This is a poor race and only a handful should have a chance. Most interesting is Cross Examine who makes his nursery debut off a potentially low mark. He didn’t show all too much in three maidens but is expected to improve now switched to this company. He has been gelded since his last run and stats tell his trainer gets these things more often than not right. Cross Examine comes from a good family, is related to some fine talent and has the assistance of a top class rider today – he must be a prime chance in this field. Cross Examine @ 6/1 Bet365
