kevshat
The next live event on the calendar is the World Cup of Darts which Barry Hearn has added an extra day too so it must be turning into a cash cow :lol. Some strong looking sides this year so it should be a good tournament especially with the short format set up for shocks. Draw, schedule and format here: http://www.pdc.tv/world-cup-of-darts/article/1wuypxfc42m9l1xjabligsdlrr/title/bwin-world-cup-of-darts-draw-made
kevshat
Re: World Cup of Darts - 11-14 Jun Tournament preview: 0.5pts ew Spain to win World Cup of Darts 100/1 Coral (1/3 1-2) We saw at the World Championship that Cristo Reyes fears nobody. He took care of Wes Newton and Kevin Painter in that tournament and had the eventual winner Gary Anderson under big pressure too. Since then he’s banged in two 9 darters on the pro tour so this guy can play. His partner Antonio Alcinas can play too and he showed both in this tournament in 2010 when he and Carlos Rodriguez dumped England out how well he can play and he’s done it on other big stages too. If these two click as a pairing and go well in doubles Reyes could well carry them a long way in this tournament. At 100/1 we should get a good run for our money with them. 0.5pts ew Republic of Ireland to win World Cup of Darts 125/1 Skybet (1/3 1-2) I quite like Republic of Ireland in this section of the draw. Scotland’s record in this tournament isn’t what it should be. Northern Ireland, Spain and South Africa have taken care of them in the last three runnings so it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise if the Republic do likewise. They might not need to if there is a clear rift between the two though. Ireland have a couple of competent players in William O’Connor and Connie Finnan. O’Connor has been going well on the pro-tour recently while Connie Finnan took care of Andrew Gilding on the floor a couple of weeks ago so he can get it done under pressure too. At 125/1 we could get a run with them in a section which looks sure to open right up. Jazzer Isaac
Re: World Cup of Darts - 11-14 Jun Wales vs Hong Kong - Wales -1.5 @ 4/6. 2 points. Webster and Lewis both have strongs shouts of Matchplay qualification, and both have had semi finals and quarter finals on the tour this year; inc. a Euro Tour semi-final for Lewis. They are a solid pair of PDC pros, and it is also notable that Webster is a World Champion from within the last 10 years as well. Not much more than reasoning to the bet than if my sums are correct, the bet is (on the assumption Wales will always hold) "do Wales break Hong Kong once in every 4 Hong Kong-thrown legs with >60% reliability?", which I think they do. kevshat
Re: World Cup of Darts - 11-14 Jun Better team won. One for me tonight. 4pts Germany to beat Austria 6/5 Ladbrokes Germany look a big price to me here. If Suljovic is on a going night then you would think this will be settled on the doubles but I'm not sure I'd want to trust R-J Rodriguez at odds on to deliver against a couple of very competent players in Artut and Hopp. If Suljovic isn't on a going night then Germany could win this 2-0 if they schedule themselves right so I really like the Germans here and at worst I'd have then as joint favourites. Artut seems to handle the pressure as well as anyone of these four and Hopp in time will be comfortable the most successful of the four players. If Austria play well then I would imagine this is going to be a tight match throughout but they can be either brilliant or useless unlike the Germans who are much more consistent so for me the value in what is a 50/50 match lies with the Germans in front of their home crowd.
