Setting basic betting guidelines to improve P/L

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I am writing this thread because (like us all!) I am looking for ways to improve my gambling after years of casual, careless choices and indifferent results. I have a strong interest in a variety of different sports and so am trying to strategize in a manner that will return regular profit. Not worried about how much profit just yet, getting regular profit is the main aim – along with improving my knowledge of all sports which should naturally come as a result of the focus I will place on researching my bets. I want to set up certain criteria that once met will satisfy me enough to place a sensible, bankroll proportionate bet taking into account factors like form, team selection, weather, referee, etc. I have different questions I want to ask people about their betting and how they approach it if they wish to answer as I would ideally like to produce a basic set of guidelines for betting on a variety of sports – which I will then publish on this forum. · What sports do you bet on? · What factors affect your choices on individual events? · What factors affect your choices for longer term bets (tournaments, ante-post, etc…) · What markets do you like to bet on? · How do you research your bets? · Do you bet in-play? · Do you play accumulators, lucky 15s? · Do you play the exchanges (back and lay)? · How many bookmakers do you use? · What is your bankroll management strategy? · What information do you record regarding your betting and how do you record it? · How successful are you (avg. P/L per month/annum)?

No time to answer fully yet, but I would say finding a single sport to specialise on should improve profit/reduce losses :)
