Mid Week non-league 9th-11th March

Recommended Posts

Just signed up to this site, hopefully I will be able to contribute some valuable opinions and receive some interesting insights in return. I have been betting on lower league football in both England and Scotland for a while now, and will always put forward selections which I feel offer value, avoiding most odds on prices. Anyway, to Tuesday's games - and there is a sole selection which I feel offers value. Eastleigh 3pts - 85/40 - Bet Victor Eastleigh top the Conference Premier form table for away fixtures over the past 5 games, and are second only to Grimsby over the last 10. Confidence will be high on the back of a convincing win away to table-toppers Bristol Rovers, where they were able to rest key players Constable and Midson just past the hour mark, and both should be fit once again for this tie. Kidderminster have struggled without Blissett and Johnson, their two highest goal-scorers, and the man coming in to replace the goals, Danny Wright, is not the most proficient striking talent at this level. In response to the poor form and inability to find a consistent source of goals following the end of Blissett's loan, Kidderminster have recently drafted in 4 promising youth team players into their senior squad, all of whom were part of Kidderminster's 'historic' FA Youth Cup run. However, it is unlikely that they will properly be able to integrate and revitalise this flagging side within a single Monday training session. Although Eastleigh worked very hard on Saturday to secure all 3 points, the psychological lift it has given them will undoubtedly accelerate their incentive to push for a play-off spot, and make the absolute most of the games they have in hand. With key attacking players fit I think there is value to be had in the current best price of 85/40 at BetVictor. I would be interested to hear your thoughts.

Re: Mid Week non-league 9th-11th March Opposing Eastleigh was one very profitable way to punt for most of the season, but they have turned there away form around (not been as good at home until the 4-0 over Macclesfield last week) and if they can continue their away form they have an outside shot at the title. It makes little sense that we can back Eastleigh at around the same price we could be Alfreton to beat Kiddie on Saturday. That proved to be a cracking bet and the money issues at the club really do look to be affecting the players. What is really bizarre is Kiddie are being backed and Eastleigh have drifted to 13/5 with Hills. That is a crazy price and that price has to be a max bet.

Re: Mid Week non-league 9th-11th March

ten man welling lost on sunday to Altrincham' date=' not much recovery time for the part timers and a hell of a trip to Gateshead, Gateshead look good things but are they worth taking on the handicap minus 1 at 11-10?[/quote'] Gateshead struggle for goals despite being the best footballing team in the division. Granted they should win but can't say I would trust them to cover any handicap. They were also terrible against Braintree on Saturday. Welling v Alty was a terrible game and but for one piece of skill it would have finished goalless. Sent from my GT-I8190N using PL Forum

yeah instead of the handicap I have taken a Gateshead/ashton double at just over evens blyth single 5-4 Eastleigh single 9-4 after dashcash and addpeas thoughts was almost tempted to take Stourbridge on again after reading up on Saturdays defeat but ramsbottom don't inspire confidence since their manager left for salford

Re: Mid Week non-league 9th-11th March Conference National: Kidderminster Harriers- Eastleigh Hosts are suffering financially, players and staff have had salary payments delayed several times this season and all refused to speak to the media recently as a protest. They have now been paid up to date and a wealthy husband and wife who support the club have agreed to bankroll salaries until the end of the season, which at least provides employees with a little stability, but this is a club which is going to have to go backwards , before it can progress. Costs are being cut in every area possible and manager Gary Whild, or whomever is in charge next season, will be operating with a greatly reduced budget probably less than a third of what Eastleigh had last season in the Conference South, the level below National. As you can imagine, the mood at the club is a little subdued and this has manifested itself with their on the pitch performances. Hanging around the playoff fringes (as usual) just before Christmas, Kiddy are 2-3-6 since Boxing Day and the goals have dried up, failing to score in 5 of six (0-3-3) and managing just two goals in nine outings. The visitors are very well bank rolled by Stewart Donald who had a five year plan to get Eastleigh and the ground up to league standard and many millions later, they would be a year + ahead of schedule were it to be achieved this season. We picked up on what was going on with the Spitfires very early and notes from the last couple of years can be read in the preview of one of their early season games at the foot of this email. I would suggest that you (at least) read the last 2-3 paragraphs of that to get some background information. This could well be the second team we have followed from the sitxth tier into the FL, Fleetwood Town were the first and they are now pushing for a League 1 promotion spot and the Spitfires could do something similar. When trying to pick up on these big potential improvers, I feel the key is looking for owners who provide at least equal funding for off the pitch activities, ground, pitch, training facilities etc, long term projects, then at least you know they are not just looking for a quick fix, an instant return and that they are probably in it for the long haul. The visitors have been hanging around just outside the top 5 ( only one auto and four playoff spots) for most of the campaign, but fell behind due to a number of postponed fixtures, however, they have run into some real form, winning their last three scoring seven goals , beating 4th placed Macclesfield Town 4-0 infront of the television cameras and winning 2-1 at leaders Bristol Rovers, who were previously 13-4-1 at home, last weekend. That leaves then 6th, outside the post season spots by 5 points and only 13 adrift of Roevrs in first and with 2-3 games in hand over all the clubs above them in the table. They have momentum and the winning mentality from taking the South title last season and there is no knowing how far they could go now with 11 matches still to play. I would suggest that a top 5 spot is very possible/likely (7.0 for promotion currently looks tempting) and we can keep an eye on them on and off over the final two months of the season. They have five forward players , James Constable, Jack Midson, Craig McAllister (the trio are inter changeable up front), Jai Reason and Ben Strevens who are closing in on 50 goals between them and with huge Football League experience, Reason has just earned the Conference POTM award for February. These are options/alternatives other teams do not have and the possibility to continually freshen things up, will be key when others clubs/players are running on empty. 1.25 units Eastleigh level ball 2.15 asian line/Sportmarket Pro ( Pinnacle). there is up to 2.375 for the same market (draw no bet) with european style bookmakers and a general 2.90 - 3.25 for the straight away win, which also appeals. The standard asian quote is +0.25 1.80 which is ok too, but odds are below what I ever personally play, but that is just my own preference, you might see things differently.

Re: Mid Week non-league 9th-11th March

what does the chester fan jr irwin reckon to torquay away? torquays season is over after their trophy semi final defeat and they obviously suffered a hangover Saturday losing to telford, 12-5 chester value?
I certainly think they are. They were poor against us on Saturday (we should have scored a couple more) but Torquay are shocking. I'm relying on the fact that the occasion of the derby may have got to them. However it is a definite play for me simply on the basis of opposing Torquay. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using PL Forum

Re: Mid Week non-league 9th-11th March What about Macclesfield vs Telford HW? Telford are last with 26 points and with very little chances for staying in league. They surprise Torquay last match and won 1-0 but Torquay played really bad last matches...On the other side Macc are playing hot and cold but they are in good 4 position 5 points less then ledaer Bristol. Also i read that Telford missing some players: defender Steve Akrigg (20 games, 2 goals) is seriously injured and he is not expected to play any game this season, while midfielder Ben McLaughlin (7 games) will also not play again this season. Main striker Sam Smith (31 games, 6 goals) will not play tonight and main defender Neill Byrne (31 games, 3 goals) will miss the game as he is completed yellow cards. So i think everything point to Macc win.GL.

Re: Mid Week non-league 9th-11th March Must admit I was worried at half time as Kiddie were the better side and deserved the lead. Even up the first Eastleigh goal it seemed it was going to be a losing bet, but it was game over once they got that goal. In the end there was a big gamble on Eastleigh and I like to think this thread helped that along.
