Re: German Masters - 4-8 Feb Tournament preview: 1pt ew S.Bingham to win German Masters 28/1 Betfair (1/2 1-2) Stuart Bingham didn’t pull up any trees at The Masters but we should forgive him for that because his record in that tournament is a bit of a shambles but he has played well in the Championship League since which is reassuring. Ricky Walden and Ali Carter went from Bingham’s quarter in qualifying and the only other seed in there is Ding who is in rotten form so there is the chance for Bingham to go very deep this week. Re: German Masters - 4-8 Feb Quarter preview: 2pts J.Higgins to win 4th Quarter 11/2 Bet365 I took John Higgins to win The Masters and although he lost in the first round against Mark Allen he fired in three centuries and a 90 in a 6-4 defeat but he lost to someone in amazing form so the time to ignore the Wizard of Wishaw hasn’t yet arrived. With Selby potentially drained Trump rates the main danger for Higgins but the Scot has a brilliant record against him so at 11/2 he’s overpriced in this quarter. Re: German Masters - 4-8 Feb Wednesday TV previews: 4pts A.McGill (+2.5 frames) to beat M.Selby 19/20 Coral It really wouldn’t surprise me if Anthony McGill goes on to win this match, especially if Mark Selby is tired from his Chinese pool exploits of the weekend but there is still enough in his handicap price to err on the side of safety here and take him to win the three frames he needs rather than all five, especially with Selby’s record in close matches. I expect the Scot to lay down a big challenge though. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/mcgill-vs-selby-betting-anthony-mcgill-can-lay-down-a-strong-challenge-to-selby 3pts J.Trump (-2.5 frames) to beat M.Holt 10/11 William Hill It is hard to see anything but a Trump win here. He has been in really good form and while Holt is dangerous in that he has little to lose in this match I can’t see an area of the game where he is significantly better than Trump so unless Trump has an off day, which I don’t see happening given his liking for this tournament, then I would expect this to be a fairly one sided match. Re: German Masters - 4-8 Feb Thursday L32 TV previews: 3pts R.Day to beat D.Junhui 12/5 Bet365 With the way Ding has been playing this season I couldn’t take him against anyone at 4/11 and while Ryan Day isn’t going the best himself at least he has nothing to lose here. He clearly enjoys playing in Germany and was in good touch in this tournament last year which gives me a bit of confidence that he will find enough to come through this match at a pretty tasty price given Ding’s lack of form. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/ding-vs-day-betting-ryan-day-looks-good-value-to-see-off-ding-in-germany 4pts M.Davis (+2.5 frames) to beat R.O'Sullivan 11/10 Paddy Power I’m not convinced Davis has it in him to upset Ronnie on the big stage but there is nothing we’ve seen recently from either man to suggest he can’t be at least competitive in the match and if Ronnie’s game is slightly off then the Sussex man should get the chances he needs to win three frames and cover the handicap if not all five to win the match so I’ll side with Davis with his head start. Re: German Masters - 4-8 Feb Friday previews: 4pts M.Allen to beat S.Murphy 7/5 BetVictor Murphy was on another level when these two met last month but I’m not convinced he will be here. Murphy played so well in that tournament he may never play that well again. Allen did absolutely nothing wrong in the match in London and showed good form against Williams in the previous round of this tournament so I like him to reverse the fortunes from last month and move into the quarter finals here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/allen-vs-murphy-betting-mark-allen-can-gain-revenge-for-masters-defeat 4pts J.Trump to beat M.Selby 8/11 Betway Trump has a good record against Selby and I’ve seen nothing in recent times to suggest that won’t continue here. He is a bit of a nightmare for Selby because he is such a heavy scorer and when all is said and done that is the game these days. The form the two have shown both this week and in the weeks leading up to this tournament says Trump should run out the winner in this one. Re: German Masters - 4-8 Feb Semi final previews: 4pts S.Murphy (-2.5 frames) to beat L.Wenbo 21/20 Boylesports Although Wenbo has a decent record over Murphy I think he might struggle here. Murphy is hitting the ball really well at the minute and is getting in from distance all the time. Wenbo has that all or nothing style that when things aren’t quite 100% he leaves himself open but even if he is 100% his safety is unlikely to contain the Magician over this distance. This should be a breakbuilding masterclass but one I expect Murphy to be too good in. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/wenbo-vs-murphy-betting-shaun-murphy-should-have-too-much-for-wenbo-in-last-four 4pts S.Maguire vs M.Selby - Over 9.5 frames Evs Ladbrokes I think this will be a tight match between two seasoned players at this level. Matches between the two have generally been tight in the past and the way they have both fought through the draw here everything suggests this one will be another tight match. Selby is renowned for tight battles and Maguire has a good record in this tournament so neither are going to give up without a good go so over 9.5 frames looks a natural bet here. Re: German Masters - 4-8 Feb Final preview: 4pts S.Murphy vs M.Selby - Over 14.5 frames 4/5 Coral This has all the makings of being a really tight final because both men look in really good form. Murphy is playing the snooker of his life while Selby is never beaten and finds a way to keep himself in every match he plays. These two needed a deciding frame to separate them when they met in The Masters last month and it wouldn’t surprise me if this one goes all the way too. I’m comfortable it will see more than 14.5 frames. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/murphy-vs-selby-betting-german-final-looks-likely-to-be-close-throughout
