16.40 Wolverhampton: Handicap (Class 4) - Loyalty: Better over further but won last race over this trip. Back after break, yard in decent form and on good mark if he can find back to his best. Likely to be right up with pace. - Repetition: Distance specialist, all AW wins came at Southwell. Doesn’t look particularly well threated off current mark. - Dresse: Back after break, habit of being slowly away, won here over 6f back in April. Lightly raced and looks like one who may appreciate the step up in trip. Yard in good form. - Fieldgunner Kirkup: Distance specialist. Disappointing on sole two AW starts, doesn’t appear to be well handicapped but good jockey booking. - Shyron: Generally lightly raced AW specialist, also strong winner of hot Yarmouth Handicap in April. Back after absence. Career highest required. Often slowly away. - Dr Red Eye: Distance specialist. Rather disappointing in recent weeks since winning at Epsom in July. Back to the AW may help and on fair mark judged on his best. - Rasaman: Decent mark but trip may stretch him a little bit, though he can be competitive. Up and down this year, back on the AW interesting, but not getting any younger. - First Experience: Strong AW performer and distance specialist. Holding form well. Big chance on recent form (staying on strongly, disadvantaged how race panned out) off same mark. - Khajaaly: Consistent CD performer, up in trip to best 7f. But high enough in the mark. Verdict: Interesting enough race. Preference is for the three year old runners in my mind. Those three look talented enough and boost potential for improvement, while there are some other seasoned campaigners like Dr Red Eye, Fieldgunner and Loyalty most notably, who could run big if they be at their best, but that says they are vulnerable to improvers. My personal preference is for Shyron and First Experience. While there is potentially more to come from Dresse over this new trip, the absence since June is a question mark, so is his habit to start slowly. Shyron also has had some problems at the start here and there and is back after a long break. However he won fresh a hot class 3 Handicap earlier this year and looked talented on plenty of occasions in his short career. There is every chance for more to come. First Experience in contrast sets a high standard in this race and should be the one to beat. His most recent Kempton 4th is extremely useful form, and the way he stayed on, while having all but not the run of the race, was impressive. He can go off the same mark and that must give him a leading chance. He looks a 80+ animal. First Experience @ 7/2 Ladbrokes - 10pts win Shyron @ 8/1 Ladbrokes - 5pts win
