Re: Volvo World Matchplay - October 15th - 19th Tournament preview: 1pt ew T.Jaidee to win Volvo World Matchplay 22/1 Betfred (1/2 1-2) Thongchai Jaidee was beaten in the final of this tournament last year by Graeme McDowell but he saw off the challenge of competent matchplayers in the form of Ian Poulter, Peter Hanson and Thomas Aiken before losing that final. The Thai has a good record in 18 hole matchplay. He is undefeated in his last three Royal Trophy singles matches and he was a quarter finalist in the Accenture Matchplay in the past too. Jaidee hits a lot of fairways and is a wonderful putter which are bonuses and at 22/1 I expect another strong showing from him this week. Re: Volvo World Matchplay - October 15th - 19th Group betting: 3pts V.Dubuisson to win Assar Gabrielsson Group 2/1 Stan James I think Victor Dubuisson is a worthy favourite in this group. He seems to come alive in this format. We all remember his eventful run to the final of the Accenture Matchplay where he took care of the likes of Graeme McDowell and Bubba Watson before he lost to Jason Day and he was just as solid in the Ryder Cup. He only halved with Zach Johnson on the final day but you suspect if that match was still live he’d have played the 18th better and won the match. His length and incredible short game should be useful this week and I’d expect him to win this group. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/volvo-world-matchplay-betting-victor-dubuisson-can-top-the-gabrielsson-group 2pts A.Levy to win Gustaf Larson Group 7/2 Ladbrokes Given how well he played in the wet last week it could be worth persevering with the Frenchman Alexander Levy in this group. He’ll be well acclimatised to the heavy air conditions and the stop start nature of preferred lies and in the last 4-6 weeks he has really upped his game off the tee. That accuracy combined with decent length and a wonderful roll with the short stick has turned him into a real challenger on the Tour now as shown when he won the farcical event in Portugal last week. Levy will be eager to prove himself in matchplay with the 2018 Ryder Cup in his native homeland so a big show here could be the first step on the road to appearing for Europe in Paris. He is a big price in this group. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/volvo-world-matchplay-betting-alexander-levy-looks-overpriced-in-the-larson-group

Re: Volvo World Matchplay - October 15th - 19th Wednesday previews: 4pts J.Luiten to beat M.Ilonen 10/11 Ladbrokes I wouldn’t be surprised if these two go up 17 and 18 before they settled this one but for me Joost Luiten is just hitting the ball that bit better at the minute and has the confidence of winning last month behind him. Luiten has some matchplay experience in the Seve Trophy which should serve him well here and his straightness and putting combination should make him very tough to beat in this opener. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/luiten-vs-ilonen-betting-joost-luiten-can-edge-out-the-finn-in-kent 3pts G.Coetzee to beat H.Stenson 15/8 William Hill Given his record in matchplay and the fact his bad back flared up again in the Ryder Cup I think Stenson could be there for the taking here. Coetzee can match the Swede in the length department and he holes more than his fair share of putts too so I think he is a very big price in this match. Stenson can make lots of birdies but he can make mistakes too so a small bet on the South African could be the play here. Re: Volvo World Matchplay - October 15th - 19th Shane Lowry to Win Outright - 2 Points @ 12/1 Bet365 Many don't know it but Shane is a terrific match player and always has been, and he has plenty of matchplay experience here in Ireland which should stand him in good order. He has had his best year on tour even if it was a winless year, with 5 Top 10 finishes including a 2nd plac finish behind Rory McIlroy in the BMW PGA Championship. He finished T9 in the Accenture Matchplay last season, I think he defeated McIlroy if memory serves me correct? Could b wrong. But he has a solid chance here this week.

Re: Volvo World Matchplay - October 15th - 19th Victor Dubussion EW 8/1 B365 I believe the Frenchman has an outstanding chance in this field. Although he has not had a great season he seems to come alive in the head to head format. Runner up in the Match Play championship in February, competing in no fewer than six matches and eventually losing out to Jason Day, after 23 holes in the final, Dubussion expressed his tenacity for this particular type of event. Lst years winner Graeme Mc Dowell was in raptures at Gleneagles about Dubussion's contribution in the Ryder Cup. The one sticking point could be the course and if it suits him. To try and counterbalance that I would suggest that his recent play in non to balmy, autumnal Scotland held little fear for the native of Cannes and he will be welcomed in Kent with a similar climate. Re: Volvo World Matchplay - October 15th - 19th Thursday previews: 4pts S.Gallacher to beat P.Larrazabal 11/10 Spreadex Gallacher looks a fair call to me in this match. He’s been pretty unlucky with the form of the players he’s come up against in matchplay so far this year but he has a beatable opponent here who probably isn’t suited to the heavy conditions. Gallacher hits it straight so he’ll get the benefit of the clean and place more often which could well end up being the difference here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/gallacher-vs-larrazabal-betting-stevie-gallacher-can-get-elusive-singles-win 4pts J.Blixt to beat J.Donaldson 13/8 Spreadex Blixt looks a huge price here. Not only does Donaldson look to be suffering the after effects of the Ryder Cup but Blixt has everything you need to be a top matchplay golfer. He can be a little erratic off the tee although the fact he won’t be hitting many drivers on this course helps that but his iron play and short game is up there with the best in the game. He looks right up for this and looks a solid bet at 13/8. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/donaldson-vs-blixt-betting-jonas-blixt-looks-overpriced-against-the-welshman

Re: Volvo World Matchplay - October 15th - 19th Friday previews: 4pts S.Lowry to beat P.Larrazabal 21/20 Stan James Lowry was poor against Dubuisson on Thursday but he was under pressure from early on and never really got going but I would have expected him to work on his short game which was what let him down and he should be much more on it here. Larrazabal can’t keep playing this course from the rough and scoring on it. Lowry has him for length and I think he’ll have him for score by the end too. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/lowry-vs-larrazabal-betting-shane-lowry-can-seal-quarter-final-spot-in-style 4pts G.Coetzee to beat F.Molinari 6/5 Spreadex You’ve got to feel for Molinari after his performance against Stenson but I was worried the extra length of the players in this group would go against him and I feel that is what will happen here. Coetzee is a huge hitter and if Jaidee wins four of the five par fives against Francesco then you would think Coetzee will have joy there too. Throw in his length on the shorter par fours as well and he should overpower the Italian. Re: Volvo World Matchplay - October 15th - 19th QF previews: 4pts M.Ilonen to beat V.Dubuisson 11/8 BetVictor Victor Dubuisson hasn’t really holed anything this week so if he is to come through here he is going to have to putt a lot better than he has been doing. Mikko Ilonen has had no problem finding the bottom of the cup and when you throw in his putting form with the fact he is rarely off a fairway you’ve got a dangerous combination. Reputation says Dubuisson can’t lose but the golf clubs could well suggest otherwise here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/dubuisson-vs-ilonen-betting-mikko-ilonen-can-pull-off-a-shock-on-saturday 5pts J.Luiten to beat P.Larrazabal 20/21 Stan James Taking out the par fives and the second hole which is extremely birdieable Larrazabal has made just three birdies in 35 holes on this golf course this week and that just isn’t going to get the job done at this level. Nothing I’ve seen has convinced me he is comfortable on the greens here so I think the Spaniard is there for the taking. Luiten hasn’t been flawless on the greens but he gives himself plenty of chances and holes a significant enough number to be a good bet here.
