Re: Bwin World Cup Of Darts 2014 Tournament preview: 2pts Scotland to win World Cup of Darts 13/2 Stan James Scotland have had a pretty wretched record in this tournament but I think the format change could well suit them as could Peter Wright’s inclusion in the side. Between Wright and Thornton the pair have won four tour titles this year so in singles play they should be very strong and the way the two score I would imagine they will go well in the doubles as well so for me Scotland could just be the team to beat and are certainly the best value of the top three in the betting. Both men are very solid so the Scots are my main bet here. 1pt ew Finland to win World Cup of Darts 100/1 Coral (1/3 1-2) One side who went well in last year’s event were Finland and I see no reason why they can’t replicate that run this year. Jarkko Komula continues to perform well on the Scandinavian circuit and he showed his quality at the World Championship at the start of the year too. Jani Haavisto shot to prominence in this tournament last year but he has also gone well back home. Together the two combined to see off the Dutch and the Germans before losing to Belgium in the semi finals but they are in the slightly easier half of the draw and could go at least one stage further here. Re: Bwin World Cup Of Darts 2014 Friday previews: 4pts Sweden to beat Gibraltar 4/5 Skybet I think Sweden are excellent value in this match. Duo and Parody have both been regulars on the PDC tour in recent years but they’ve regressed massively and based on what we’ve seen from them in this event in the past they’re going to struggle here. Magnus Caris is by far the best player on show in this match and if he gets good support from his lesser known partner Sweden should coast into the last 16. Both Part and Narain have been playing matches and winning matches and both at a better level that the Japanese guys will have been playing against since they’ve both appeared in the World Championship. We’ve seen in the past that doubling can be an issue for the Japanese players and that is generally the strongest area of Part’s game in particular so I like Canada in this one.
