It has stood up to it so far in 2014 and if he finishes well I really think he can win this semi final. However there is a lot of pressure around in the semi finals so I’m just going to play safe and take the Scot with the 2.5 leg headstart. For some reason Van Gerwen struggles against Anderson and if he makes it through here I don’t think it will be without a struggle. If I’m honest I’m slightly concerned with Barneveld because he is very much someone who knows stats and records and he’ll know he’s never won a semi final in this tournament in a number of attempts. I’d like to think that would only play on his mind late on in this match which makes me more confident that we’ll see at least 13 legs in this match.
