Photos: 2.000 Guineas, Newmarket

Recommended Posts

Saturday at Newmarket - what a fantastic day it was! Went there together with jayalexander for what was my first visit to Newmarket. Thought the track was brilliant and can't quite get why many people knock it. It was a really good crowd but at no time felt uncomfortable. Viewing was perfectly fine from the stands, thanks to big screen and a good pair of binoculars. Reminded me a bit of the Curragh with the long straight and sheer with of the whole place and track. Got a perfect spot on the rails for the big race then, which promised allot beforehand and made me feel really excited. I thought it kept its promise, even though I just couldn't believe it when the eventual winner was announced. Where did he came from was my initial question? As I didn't see that coming - literally! There is a review of the 2.000 Guineas up on my blog btw., if someone is interested. Overall, it was a throughly enjoyable day in great company of jayalexander... and I had the honour to meetanother user of this forum as well, in the name of chris34 in his role as a racemaker!
