chris34
4.45 Lingfield Some of these make appeal but considering the grade most of them don’t which is a shame. Purcell was all out to win a CD handicap 2 weeks ago on first run of the season, a 3lb rise is not over harsh but probably enough and the fact he could easily bounce in this. Talented Kid still lightly raced but showed next to nothing on reappearance and really needs to have come on for that run to take a hand here. Stonefield Flyer got an easy time out front last time out to win at Kempton a 4lb rise might be enough to stop him going in again up in grade. Born To Surprise is hard to catch right and remains one to tread carefully with despite this return to 7f likely to suit here and on a good mark. Nassau Storm is looking held off this mark at present. It might be worth giving Forceful Appeal another chance he has looked an improving sort all winter and is 5 from 9 around here and although 6lb higher for last win and only 6th last time out over CD off this mark. Only beaten less than 2 lengths having been trapped wide throughout and having to make effort widest of all, ran as if still in form and may yet be able to defy this mark from an inside draw today. 2pt win Forceful Appeal 7/1 bet365 5.20 Lingfield Again a race lacking much depth and many of these have a lot to prove for now. Buster Brown looks a very short price on his return to action possibly because of connections, failed off this mark last time out though and is starting to look a difficult one to predict and not won off a mark this high before. The Firm has stamina to prove despite being in reasonable form will need to step up to be taking this. Standing Strong is another that looks held by his current mark but is likely to be thereabouts if last 2 runs are anything to go on. Super Duplex might be worth another chance in a wide open handicap. His second on penultimate start reads very well in the context of this race. Poor effort last time out but possible excuse didn’t stay the trip and a return to this track may be in his favour, he has dropped to his last winning mark and has a decent draw today. 1pt e/w Super Duplex 8/1 bet365 6.50 Wolverhampton Very interesting small field handicap with all of these to rule out. Barracuda Boy didn’t win last year but can go well fresh for a yard that knows how to get them ready, he still looks a little high in the handicap although this is an easy race than he normally contests so sound chance. Caspian Prince has had a good winter this year but has been held by his revised mark last twice, has dropped a further 1lb again today so not without a chance if coping with 6f which has been a problem so far in this country all wins over 5f. Bedloes Island hasn’t won off a mark this high before and never involved at Doncaster last Sunday so needs to bounce back. Mappin Time has been showing decent form at Southwell last 3 runs, further 2lb higher for latest second and might be unsuited to this return to this surface. Pandar might be worth a punt at a decent price in a race like this. He showed some extremely good form in Italy at Listed and Group level in 2012, not so good with Cowell last season but joined new yard and ran very well after a lay off last time out on stable debut. Should come on for the run and Spencer takes the ride eye catching as he can be good from the front which is what I would expect with him. 2pt win Pandar 6/1 pp
joeblitz
Re: Flat Racing Sat 5th April (Wolverhampton, Lingfield, Newcastle) 4.35 Gowran Castle Of Argh 7/1 William Hill BOG Castle of Argh had 2 runs last season ans was 3rd lto over 1m at Dundalk. Stepping up 4f in trip today which he will appreciate and with the stable just coming into form he should be bang there and he is working well also. I know nothing about Cosmic Cannonball from the Bolger stable but Gowran is his back yard and his filly is respected. Castle Of Argh should win this poor race. 5 Points e/w Castle OF Argh 7/1 William Hill BOG
