Oh the things I'm willing to bet on. :rollin ITV did a similar thing last year called Reborn in the USA where has-been pop stars had a second chance of fame but they had to tour the USA to do so....Tony Hadley won, beating Michelle Gayle in the final. :o This time, the winner of this gets a guaranteed record contract to release ONE single (much like Michelle McManus!). :rollin This time they've rejigged the format and giving it a Stars in their Eyes makeover with seven heats featuring five acts but they have to sing LIVE (but who really knows?) at 5:45pm, singing their 'best known' song as well as a cover of a recent pop song and the results show is 8:45pm. The show's host is Vernon Kay. :eyes I don't trust the voters who watch ITV (what the fook happened last week in the attempted Stars in their Eyes/Sarah Brightman sting?! Did the fooking gambling syndicates forget to vote?! Fooking morons! :@) but surely there's money to be made. Tonight is the 'first heat' and we have: * Gloria Gaynor (Best price 6/4, Worst price 6/5 at B365): In The Sun, she says "I'm doing this show because it's a free trip to London." Online she doesn't think much of her chances and thinks The Honeyz will win saying “Look at them, they’re gorgeous girls and the audience love gorgeous people.†....the online poll suggests that Gloria's right as at 11:00am, The Honeyz lead with 27.27% (Gloria 22.73%, Limahl, Tiffany both on 18.18% and Howard Jones on 13.64%). This doesn't give the potential gambler much of a hope but she will sing I Will Survive. And a cover of a Kylie Minogue song. * Tiffany (Best price 3/1 at VC, Worst price 2/1 at PP): Hasn't been doing much lately, has posed for Playboy back in 2002 (beating long-time rival Debbie Gibson in doing so who only recently did a Playboy shoot) and wow, she lives in Cannock. She'll be singing I Think We're Alone Now and a cover of a Girls Aloud song (!?). * Limahl (Best price 3/1 at PP, Worst price 5/2 at Sb): He'll probably be hoping people mistake him for Chesney Hawkes. He doesn't think much of his own chances convinced that Gloria will win saying "Just listen to that voice. It’s such a great song [i Will Survive] and she’s such a great woman that she’s bound to win.†Limahl will be singing Too Shy and a cover of Maroon 5's This Love. * Howard Jones (Best price 7/1 at Sb/B365, Worst price 5/1 at VC): Howard will probably be hoping for a few votes his way from a rampantly rabid fanbase (if any). Howard isn't convinced he's going to win either saying “She’s a lovely woman, and that song is a classic,†Howard will be singing What is Love and a cover of a Dido song. * The Honeyz (Best price 9/1 at VC/Sb, Worst price 6/1 at PP): The Honeyz will be singing Finally Found and a cover of a Nickleback song. ======== First thoughts: It's all about Gloria Gaynor. Looking at the songs, Limahl could be in with a shout but it's all about nailing a '4/1' shot (well 1's going to win, 4 ain't). Is I Will Survive enough to justify plunging heavily at odds of 6/4? Not with the dastardly ITV voters. I'm convinced rather libellously (thus without any proof whatsoever) ITV are in league with the bookies. Gloria should win this heat but I'm scared after last week (thank Gawd I didn't put a tip up on the Stars in their Eyes Live Final!).

I'm just as sad. :ok This is far better than Reborn in the USA :rollin Pre-show I thought its all Gloria Gaynor :notworthy but Tiffany looked the part. No dance though :( We used to do that dance in front of the mirror :( How does the format work? The website is crap so I assume those trailered to appear (Shakey, Jaki Graham etc) are on the same format - maybe 4 heats folowed by semis and a final? How camp is Limahl now? Jesus.
