Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition CWS are 13-4, 7-2 on the road, 8-2 in their last 10 and on a winning streak of 5. KC are 5-12,2-7 at home, 2-8 in their last 10 and on a losing streak of 3. Contreras is 0-0, 3.63 ERA this season. Hes never lost to the Royals or at Kauffman stadium. Last season he went 2-0,2.75 ERA against them. Greineke is 0-1, 3.38 ERA so far this year. Im taking the handicap but looking at the form and stats, if CWS dont win the game at least then im bloody giving up! Most bookies seem to be going CWS +1.5, if you cant get the -1.5 Id advice just backing them on the moneyline @ around 1.8. How LAD lost to COL last night is beyond me. After last night you still have the team with the 2nd best record going up against the team with the 2nd worst record in the majors.(the best and worst records go to our friends above, CWS and KC) Perez pitches for LAD and is 3-0,2.04 ERA. Although his career ERA at Corrs Field is 6.18 and last year he was 0-3 against the Rockies. Chacon makes his first start of the year for the Rockies. He's 1-0, 0.00 ERA in his last two starts against LAD. These must have been some while back though, Chacon seeks his first win as a starter since June 2003 after serving as the team's closer in 2004. He went 1-9 in relief in 2004 and just 1-14 in his last 15 decisions. If Im tipping up San Diego it can only mean one thing. Well maybe two but I think Im just holding onto my sanity so that means Jake Peavy must be pitching. What can be said, 3 starts, 2-0, 1.31 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 20.2 Innings. This kid is a star! Webb is 3-0 with a 3.26 ERA this season. He has a 2.84 ERA against the Padres in 5 starts. Due to this I expect Peavy to take SD to the win but it to be a tight low scoring game. Therefore Im taking the unders and just the straight win on SD. CWS did beat KC but also needed a 10th inning and only done it by the 1 run. LAD and COL again has me stumped, whilst the low score between ARI @ SD was right. Peavy didnt collect the loss as he'd left by the time ARI had scored the winner. Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition Nope, the only change if any is playing the handicap a little more but only a ferw of the losses have been due to taking the handicap. Im hoping it's still the new season kicking in, it is only 20 games of a 160 game season and I only started after the All Star game last year. How can you possibly explain results like LAD's recent series with COL and CWS going so close against KC though? All I can say is Im sorry to anyone thats lost money on my selections so far and that anyone who is still following I hope things turn around. Sometimes I dont have the cash and my picks are made with just you guys in mind. I still stay up to 5 o'clock or so to see if they win even though I dont have cash on them. That's because I want the picks to win and for anyone following to make money. Most of last season my picks went unbacked by myself due to no funds but selections were still made for you guys. Oh, and tonights games a no-play. Just sit back, watch and enjoy.
