WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition

Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition Taken up both your tips. Any idea when C5 start shopwing games on Wednesdays as well as Sundays? Thoroughly enjoyed the Twins game on Sunday. Went to see the Blue Jays last year a couple of times at the Skydome. Love to go again this year.

Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition

I was following your last year thread with great interest and I will be doing it this season as well. I am sure you will end up with big plus.
Hi zbrochu, lets hopes so. Ive briefly looked at that site but not in any real great detail. Afraid I cant answer that question sam, as soon as possible hopefully. Two more picks for tonight. BOS have managed 18 runs off 18 hits in their last 2 games. Bats oare on fire right now. SF have Shmidt pitching who is a star and has a 12-3 record over 21 starts against COL. COL are now 8 games without a win. BET 56 00.05am Sun 17th TB @ BOS - BOS(-1.5) to win 2pts @ 2.00 (W.Hills) BET 57 01.05am Sun 17th SF @ COL - SF(-1.5) to win 2pts @ 1.95 (P.Power) New Bank: 75.58pts

Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition A few to be getting on with. Im going unders again in the FLA - NYM match. Its come in for the last two games between them and neither team has seemd to find its bats consistently yet. FLA still pitching solid. STL have managed to turn their fortunes around with this series against MIL. Theyre now back at the top of the division and looking for the sweep. Marquis takes the mound and he's allowed 1 run in each of his last two starts. Despite their improvement, STL's big hitters still havnt found their form yet so I dont expect them to put up huge numbers. BOS are on a roll. 3 wins in a row and finally over .500. Again they managed to convert 6 runs from 6 hits last night and Ramirez hit his 1st HR of the season. If this is a sign of him returning to form then the AL East want to look out. Once this team get firing they can really rack up the numbers. Wakefield takes the mound for BOS who is 1-0, 1.32 ERA with a 10-1,2.91 ERA lifetime record against the Devil Rays. BET 58 06.10pm Sun 17th FLA @ NYM - Under 7.5 runs 2pts @ 1.88 (Betfair a.c.) BET 59 07.05pm Sun 17th STL @ MIL - STL(-1.5) to win 2pts @ 2.20 (W.Hills) BET 60 07.05pm Sun 17th STL @ MIL - Under 9 runs 2pts @ 2.05 (W.Hills) BET 61 07.05pm Sun 17th TB @ BOS - BOS(-1.5) to win 2pts @ 1.95 (P.Power) New Bank: 79.44pts

Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition 3 more. CWS have won last 2 against SEA. Sat SEA only managed 3 hits agaibst CWS, all from star player Suzuki. Garcia, pitching for CWS is 1-0, 1.93 ERA, a 15-2 record in day games since 2003. CWS have had 9 of their games decided by 3 innings or less so Im avoiding the handicap. LAD best record in the league at the moment. 4 game win streak, SD lost last 3. Neither team scoring many runs. BET 62 08.05pm Sun 17th SEA @ CWS - CWS to win 2pts @ 1.62 (W.Hills) BET 63 09.10pm Sun 17th SD @ LAD - Under 8.5 runs 2pts @ 2.05 (SportingBet) BET 64 09.10pm Sun 17th SD @ LAD - LAD(-1.5) to win 2pts @ 2.55 (B365) New Bank: 73.44pts Should be back again for a bet for CH 5's live game.

Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition Channel 5's game tonight is ATL @ PHI. So far both teams have got off to average starts. Although the division shows ATL 2nd and PHI bottom theres only one game between them. A PHI win would put them both on 6-6. This is the rubber(deciding) game of the series as they split the last two games,ATL taking Fri's game 11-4 and PHI winning 2-1 last night. ATL ace Mike Hampton starts on the pitching mound tonight. He's 1-0,1.29 ERA so far this season. He's only lost one game in 15 starts running back to last July. He went 3-0,1.21 ERA over 4 starts against the Phillies last year. Brett Myers pitches for PHI. He's 1-0, 0.73 for the season, allowing 1 run over 12 innings. Two men to look out for at bat are Chipper Jones(ATL) and Pat Burrell(PHI). Jones is hitting a .381 with 3 HR and 8 RBI. Pat Burrell is hitting .378 for the season with 4HR and 17 RBI's(2nd in the majors). Rafael Furcal(ATL) has also found some form of late hitting .318,3 HR and 5RBI in the last 7 days. Overall I fancy ATL to come out on top to stay in touch with WAS in the NL East. The bookies have them very close. P.Power go 2.00 for ATL, W.Hills 1.95 whilst the majority go 1.83. Most are going 1.83 for PHI. One bookies is giving -1.5 to ATL which is Ladbrokes @ 2.25. Everywhere else seems to be giving the handicap to PHI. BET 65 01.05am Mon 18th ATL @ PHI - ATL to win 2pts @ 2.00 (P.Power) New Bank: 71.44pts

Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition The less said about the live game and Atlanta's relief pitcher Kolb the better. Due to a great pitcher's dual and an early finish, Channel 5 showed us some of what we missed in the main game (runs) via some highlights from a 2001 game. It also highlighted why baseball can be so great as they showed Cleveland come back from 12-0 to beat Seattle 15-14. Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition WFTE hope you don't mind me putting some tips on this thread too .. Considering BAL, SEA, FLA , NYY today .. maybe BOS Bedard pitching for the O's has looked solid in his first 2 outings and unlucky to have 2 no-decisions, DET pitchers are maturing from a few seasons ago but BAL have a potent offense this year and Johnson doesn't have a great record at Camden Yards. Seattle are another team I think have improved a lot in the offseason and like BAL would be my tip to progress if they weren't in such a strog division with ANA and OAK. Still their pitching staff underperformed last season and don't expect that to happen to such an extent again - they've improved there hitting considerable with Sexton and Beltre which is why I give them a good chance away from pitching friendly Safeco. Sele goes today against his old club and IMO against one of the weakest ANA pitchers Byrd whose had a rough start. FLA because Willis seems to always start the season strongly and Ohka has a terrible record against them (1-9 lifetime) NYY because they have to start winning soon or heads will roll .. the Devil Rays are the perfect opponents for them to turn around and Rob Bell pitching for the DRays has historically been battered by the Yankees bats Finally BOS because Shilling is on the mound and it's the Boston Marathon today !!

Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition Just want to start off with this.

The last time the Yankees started a season with a 4-8 record, they finished in fifth place with a 71-91 record, 20 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League East in 1991.
Oh what a dream that would be!! Right Ill get these up and then take a look at the 1am+ matches. Sherman has mentioned a bit about BAl and FLA so I wont say much on them. FLA have really impressed me so far with their pitching and thats whats needed in a team thats going to go far. I can see them really pushing the Braves this year. CIN are 5-1 at home. Theyre currently .545 and Ken Griffey JR is only hitting .257 without a homer in sight. Once this man finds his stride expect that average to rise. Belisle is a pitcher with a certain amount of expectation around him. CIN have so far faced some big name pitchers already this season so Wood shouldnt concern them too much. LAD are on fire at the mo. With J D Drew, Kent and Bradley all settling in theyve gone 9-1 in their last 10. Perez is 2-0 for the season with a 1.59 ERA. BET 66 00.05am Tues 19th DET @ BAL - BAL(-1.5) to win 2pts @ 2.40 (W.Hills) BET 67 00.05am Tues 19th FLA @ WAS - Under 8 runs 2pts @ 1.86 (W.Hills) BET 68 00.05am Tues 19th FLA @ WAS - FLA(-1.5) to win 2pts @ 2.10 (W.Hills) BET 69 00.10am Tues 19th CHC @ CIN - CIN to win 2pts @ 2.20 (Ladbrokes) BET 70 00.35am Tues 19th LAD @ MIL - LAD to win 2pts @ 1.74 (W.Hills) New Bank: 82.40pts

Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition Just want to make a apology over the lateness on some posts(although all made in time). Due to working nights back at Ladbrokes for the summer and inconvient bus schedules Im not getting in til late. I will try my best to give us much time as possible for those following to place bets though. All I can say is keep checking uptil 5-10 mins before the games start as I plan to give at least this much notice. I could get selections up faster just posting the picks but decided this year I want to include some summary, rather than just selections, to justify the picks. Neither HOU or ATL have found their stride with the bats yet. There's only a handful of teams that have scored less runs. They've also allowed less runs than the majority of teams. Pair that with tonights starting pitchers, Hudson and Clemens. Hudson is 1-0,1.38 ERA while Clemens is 1-0,0.64 ERA. Clemens has 18 strikeouts and allowed 7 hits over 14 innings. Sportingbet go under 7.5 @ 1.95. If you dont have an account with them Id still advise taking under 8 @ 1.71 that is available at most others. BET 71 01.05am Tues 19th ATL @ HOU - Under 7.5 runs 2pts @ 1.95 (SportingBet) New Bank: 80.40pts

Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition Hi WFTE. The current price for your last bet at Sporting Bet is 1.83 but at least one of the odds sites is still reporting this as 1.95. Do you check the actual price at the bookmakers when posting or just rely on the odds reporting sites ? (not being picky or anything like that - just curious to know if the lines really do move that quickly just before these games start)

Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition Four out of six and a profit on the night. Florida's pitching staff done a fair job towards the unders but their unpredictable batting staff got excited. If they could start producing runs more consistently the 10/1 available for them for the National League would look tempting. Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition Here's the selections for the pre midnight games. Ill look at the rest after work. LAD, Ive covered them already. Mainly the same reasons as before. they're now on 6 wins whereas MIL are on 4 straight losses. Dessen has 8 career victories over MIL, more than any other side. KC are another team having problems winning at home. Even worse than that is their abilitiy,or lack of, of scoring runs. Theyve managed the grand total of 14 runs in their last 7 games. Neither side are notching up huge numbers of runs. CLE should have enough to outscore KC while keeping thee totals below what I feel is a rather generous number. Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition To hell with it, its too big. Williams has an impressive 3-1 lifetime record and 1.87 ERA against the Padres, including a 2-0 mark with a 1.32 ERA against them last season. Seven of his 10 wins last year came against his own division opposition, as have 10 of his 17 lifetime victories. Lawerence is 0-2 , 8.38 ERA for SD. He gave up 7 runs in 2 2/3 innings against the cubs. SD beat SF last night and were favourites to do so. This confused me until I saw the SD's pitcher name.........Jake Peavy. Well he's not on the mound tonight so again Im confused. This is the SD team that had managed 16 runs in their previous 7 games before last night. As far as I can see, Peavy is the only thing this club has going for them. BET 80 03.05am Weds 20th SF @ SD - SF to win 2pts @ 2.25 (Betfair a.c.) New Bank: 78.38pts

Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition LAD have got off to a storming start. Theyre 9-1 in their last 10 and on a 7 game winning streak. D.Lowe is 1-1,1.77 ERA from 3 starts this year. I said last night my feelings about SD. They denied me in that game but to have them afavourites here?? Bookies are having a laugh Im sure. LAD swept them at home beating them 18-3 over the three games. Despite ARI's attractive record so far theyre 1-4 on the road. Vazquez, tonights starter, is 0-2, 11.77 ERA. Lowry(SF) is still yet to lose a decision in his 16 career starts, picking up 7 wins along the way. SF record with Lowry starting is 11-3. Alfonzo is hot for SF at the mo managing 7 multi hit games already and batting an impressive .438. Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition PIT are 4-11,(2-9 against NLC) and on a losing streak of 5. CIN are 8-6 with a 7-2 home record. PIT's Wells is 0-3,7.23 ERA this season. Wells is 1-5 with a 3.55 ERA in 12 career appearances against the Reds, including 0-2 with a 4.08 ERA in three starts last year. Milton is 2-1,4.86 ERA which becomes 2-0,2.92 ERA when at home. CWS are 11-4 with a 5-2 road record. They're 9-3 against the ALC and on a 3 game winning streak. DET are 6-9 and 3-4 at home. They are 5-8 against ALC and 3-7 in their last 10. Buehrle(CWS) is 2-1, 2.25 ERA. Buerhle, who is 8-5 with a 2.63 ERA lifetime against the Tigers, has held opposing hitters to a .150 mark in three starts this year. Bonderman is 2-1, 3.86 ERA for the year. COL are 4-10 and 1-6 on the road. They're 3-7 in their last 10 but have won their last 2. PHI are 7-8 and 4-5 at home. PHI's Leiber is 3-0, 2.49 ERA. He also flourishes in these conditions with a 7-1 record in day home games. Colorado's Kennedy is 1-1,9.00 ERA. Anyone who's been following knows how big a fan Im becoming of the Florida pitching staff. After 15 games they are still yet to give up more than 4 runs in a game. The problem has been the unpredictability of their bats. Well hopefully that problem will be solved as Martinez takes the mound for NYM. If the FLA pitching does their usual business, hopefully Pedro should be able to keep the FLA bats quiet enough for us to land the unders. NYY are 6-9 and 2-5 on the road. They go 3-7 in their last 10 and are yet to win back to back games since their opening two games. TOR are 9-7 and 2-2 at home. They'rve split their last 10 games 5-5. NYY bats have been picking up this week but hopefully Chacin(TOR) can do something about that. He's 3-0,1.42 for the season. So far this season, Chacin has beaten Tampa Bay, Oakland and Texas. Last year, he beat the Yankees in his only exposure to them and Yankee Stadium. Mussina takes the ball for NYY and is 0-1,4.32 ERA. MIL are 5-9 and 2-8 in their last 10, losing their last 6. HOU are 7-7 but 6-2 at home. Pettitte(HOU) is 0-1,3.44 ERA this year. However he's won 23 of his 31 decisions since MAy 2003. Davis(MIL) is 2-1,3.63 ERA. Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition Not anything Im including in the system. If I was to pick one out it'd be for LAD to continue their winning streak. Whats preventing me is Eaton has always done will against the Dodgers and has a 8-3 record and 2.54 ERA over 17 starts against them. Saying that, these two pitchers squared off last saturday with LAD winning 8-3. There's a lot of new faces at the Dodgers too so how much Eaton's record against them comes into the equation is questionable. LAD are 12-2, 7-2 on the road and 9-1 in their last 10 COL are 4-11 but 3-4 at home and 3-7 in thier last 10. Going by the form records you wouldnt expect LAD to be odds on. Actually just read through last nights game report and although LAD won it in extra innings it seems they were on the bad end of some harsh umpire calls. Damn you DBDF, I was gonna leave this game but Ive managed to talk myself into it now. For a team in such form the price is too big. Re: WFTE's Baseball - 2005 edition Yes Im a stupid tosser. Bet 98 should read: BET 98 03.05am Fri 22nd LAD @ SD - LAD to win 2pts @ 2.35 (W.Hills) Didnt feel pressurised, just thought Id see if there was anything Id pick out if I had to. After relooking at the game I decided the price was too big. I was very borderline on choosing it originally. Reason I commented was because I planned on posting it with a few positives and then the reasons I wasnt picking it. More I looked the more the positives appeared.
