Jump Racing Wednesday 12th March

1.30 Cheltenham Faugheen 11/8 Paddy Power BOG Rathvinden is a very good horse and lto was beaten fair and square by Red Sherlock. However Faugheen is much better and has not come off the bridle in 4 runs. Just to demonstrate how good he is in his first run he won a bumper by 22 lengths from Josses Hill with a McCain horse who has won 3 races back in third and a host of winners down the field. He will win and he is on you can have maximum confidence in. 10 Points win Faugheen 11/8 Paddy Power BOG 2.05 Cheltenham Don Cossack 14/1 Paddy Power BOG Don Cossack has been trained this year with Cheltenham in mind and is sure to relish the trip having been campaigned over shorter. While his jumping needs to improve he will be staying at the finish and will be placed at least. 5 Points e/w Don Cossack 14/1 Paddy Power BOG 2.40 Cheltenham Bayan 12/1 Paddy Power BOG Bayan has not stopped improving since last summer and is even better on this ground. Also has form around here and is carrying less than 11st. 5 Points e/w Bayan 12/1 Paddy Power BOG 3.20 Cheltenham Captain Conan 5/1 Bet365 BOG Sire De Grugy has been the best 2 miler all season but he tired up the hill against Kid Cassidy in November and was comfortably held when he raced against Captain Conan here as a novice. Captain Conan was not right when beaten by Sire De Grugy at Sandown but he will be right today! 5 Points e/w Captain Conan 5/1 Bet365 BOG 4.40 Cheltenham Arzembuoy Premiere 22/1 Stan James BOG 2 quiet runs in Ireland following wins on the flat and over hurdles in France on this ground. Looks to have been trained for this race and I am positive he will leave his Irish form behind today. 5 Points e/w Arzembuoy Premier 22/1 Stan James BOG

Re: Jump Racing Wednesday 12th March 2.05 Cheltenham - 2pts win Smad Place @ 7/1 (Bet365) Class act over hurdles and has taken well the chasing game, impressing when jumping well barring the unseat at the last when well clear on his debut in the sphere. Has jumped well to win both chases since including a good race last time, seeing off the smart Sam Winner and has twice handled Cheltenham fine when third in World Hurdles. Although he handles soft he'll enjoy the better ground too and has plenty of stamina should this turn into a test. He's consistent, Alan King is starting to come into some decent form and it's hard to not see him run well. 2.40 Cheltenham - 1pt win Clondaw Kaempfer @ 14/1 (Bet365) Looks to have the right profile for this race for all he's inexperienced and had a setback last season. He's a second season hurdler who potentially looks well-handicapped to me and conditions can suit. Beat useful horses in novices last season before picking up an injury and having returned down the field in a decent handicap (not without promise) he stayed on for third having been outpaced at Ascot last time. Should now be fully fired up for this and the stiffer test can suit. Looks off a fair mark on previous exploits and now he's back rolling again I can see him going well should his jumping hold up in this big field. 3.20 Cheltenham - 1pt win Arvika Ligeonniere @ 11/1 (Bet365) I know he's better right-handed but he's so talented and at 11/1 is worth taking a chance on in my eyes. It's a weak renewal by the looks (if you'd have told me a couple of years ago that Sire De Grugy would be favourite for a Champion Chase I'd have laughed my head off). This horse is so classy and has solid form in the book. I don't think it was just his jumping that saw him run a shocker here last season (actually jumped okay early) and I can forgive him that. Ran well when not getting home in an Albert Bartlett here previously and although handling soft well has so much speed that better ground can see him right at his best. I don't think he wants a slog really so this can suit and at 11/1 I think he's worth chancing that he doesn't jump markedly right because if he's well and he doesn't, it could look foolish. 4.00 Cheltenham - 2pts win Balthazar King @ 6/1 (Bet365) My old favourite returns now for another crack at the Cross Country and has his ground, which looked unlikely. He's best fresh so this is absolutely spot on for him and it was a credit to him that he won when last seen considering that wasn't too long after his seasonal return when winning here. Absolutely loves this course and usually jumps for fun and although 10 now, doesn't look to be losing any appetite for the game. He's tough and if he gets into a rhythm he's a joy to watch. Didn't run in this last year but can regain his crown this afternoon I sincerely hope!
