Re: Sky Bet League 1 > Saturday February 1st I'm taking Brentford to win at Shrewsbury. I placed a small-medium bet so far. Was wondering what people more knowledgeable are thinking about this, seems pretty solid to me. (I've watched parts of their last couple games, they seem dominant enough). It's first place against last, shrewsbury has lost their last 6 home matches, and it seems like most of the teams they get results against are in the bottom of the pack. I think Brentford are better at home (seems like they have a good fan base), but, Brentford are in form, I they should take this, at odds of roughly 1.75

Re: Sky Bet League 1 > Saturday February 1st

I'm taking Brentford to win at Shrewsbury. I placed a small-medium bet so far. Was wondering what people more knowledgeable are thinking about this' date=' seems pretty solid to me. (I've watched parts of their last couple games, they seem dominant enough). It's first place against last, shrewsbury has lost their last 6 home matches, and it seems like most of the teams they get results against are in the bottom of the pack. I think Brentford are better at home (seems like they have a good fan base), but, Brentford are in form, I they should take this, at odds of roughly 1.75[/quote'] Shrewsbury have a new care taker manager. he has been in charge for 1 game where they lost 3-1 away at Swindon. They actually played well 15 shots , 8 on target , and 12 corners to Swindon's 4. I think 4/5 Ladbrokes for a Brentford away victory is too short given that Shrewsbury run of losses at home will end at some point. They had to play teams who are currently in the top 5 in their last 3 home games. (and lost all 3) I think a safer bet is both teams to score at 4/5. Also for comic interest the Shrewsbury caretaker manager is actually called Michael Jackson which also makes me think this game will be a "Thriller" Shrewsbury Town caretaker manager Michael Jackson told BBC Radio Shropshire: (After the Swindon game) "I am not going to lie - it is a difficult result to take. The players have done what they have been asked to and, up to the 89th minute, they had done it. "The biggest thing for me is the performance and the attitude - from that point of view it is positive. "It's been a whirlwind [since Graham Turner's departure] - phone calls, interviews, players. "I am looking at Colchester tomorrow (this game was postponed) and looking at how we play them. We have Brentford next Saturday and we need the support from the fans to help get the results. I am targeting four points from our next two games."

Re: Sky Bet League 1 > Saturday February 1st Wolves-Bradford Pick: over 2,5 @ 1.90 at Pinny This season, at Molineaux, Wolves have been an under machine. 10 of their last 11 home games have gone under, that's a huge trend to go again but we must invoke the law of averages and not only that. Last home game against Bristol City have ended this under home trend of the Wolves, and in spite of the a 3-1 win, things werent exactly ideal as City really cause some troubles and Wolves didnt looked too good, and were winners much cause of the mistakes made by a terrible visitor defense. Wolves have gone all season with a effictive style of play, doing just enough to win games and not force too much up-front. They do have the best defense of the league and with a solid back four they can afford to not push up-front. But this unattractive style allowed space for critics and lately the response from bench was to incline their passing more towards scoring than keeping possession. They played an entertaining game at Oldham, last round, won 3-0 in the end but Oldham had their share of chances, but overall Wolves looked more solid and dangerous up-front. Also winger Sako responded really well after being benched with Bristol City, scoring with City and adding a good performance at the Latics. Attacker Dicko also with good form, Jacobs doing really well also. Wolves lost some players this week, gk Hennessey, attacker Griffiths and also striker Doyle, but main news is that they have signed the top-scorer of this league, Leon Clarke from Coventry and that should boost their offensive potential. With their more offensive oriented game i expect the usual 2-3 goals from locals. Bradford is crossing a bad period, prolly even they dont remember when they won last time. But this is a decent team with plenty of draws lately, which means they are hard to beat and their away line with 3.6.4 comes as a prove. Still lately they have proved to be quite shaky away from home, receiving 3 from rejuvenated Notts County, 2 at Peterbourough and Sheff utd. They did lost some players, as top-scorer Wells to Huddersfield and Reid injured, but they did signed McLean in attack from Hull, winger Reach, and also Atkinson and Bennett. Bennett wont play, due to his red card from last round but Bradford has the potential to score here, in spite of the fact that they arent in the form of their lifes and in spite of all this change of personal. They somehow raised to the occasion when they played the big boys: 2-2 at Sheff Utd lately, 0-0 draw with Preston last round in a nice game, 3-2 at MK Dons, even in the reverse fixture, lost 1-2, they cause plenty of issues to Wolves so i think they can score here, at least 1 goal and with tradition also on my side (plenty of goals between this 2 in past time) i will go with goals this time.

Re: Sky Bet League 1 > Saturday February 1st I think BTTS is a good call in the shrews v Brentford game. Shrews caretaker said before the Swindon game that he was going there to attack and true to his word they attacked and were unlucky not to get a win. I think he'll set his team up in the same way here and we'll see plenty of chances for both! Sent from my GT-I9100 using PL Forum

Re: Sky Bet League 1 > Saturday February 1st Swindon look a good price to me: were 5/4 yesterday, slightly shorter at 6/5 this morning with betvictor. Swindon 10 wins from 13 in league at home this season, Oldham 9 defeats from 15 in league away this season & have lost 5 of their last 7 games. Can anyone put me off, as thought Swindon would be odds on here?

I thought the same. The only thing I can think of being an obstacle here is that Swindon haven't been playing massively well tbh. They didn't play that well when beating Peterborough 2-1 and weren't that great beating Shrewsbury. They've conceded at least once in each of their last seven home fixtures, and still have a slight chance IMO of making the playoffs. I say slight because they're currently five points off Walsall who have really picked up the pace in 2014. Peterborough are still four points above them, and although they have been poor of late still possess one of the best offence in the league. Swindon's away form is dreadful too, losing to poor sides. They're not even being beaten by middle of the road sides, when they're being routinely beaten by sides such as Gillingham and Stevenage. So it all comes down to how long they can keep their heads above the pressure that their home form creates. When all they have to rely on is a strong home form, in my experience, sooner rather than later something starts to go.
