Re: Sky Bet League 2 > January 25th - 27th Morecambe V Portsmouth + 0.25 @ 1.7 - bet365. Probably the first time in a long time I've backed us in a while but I feel we represent decent value here and could nick a win. Clearly we've been very very inconsistent this season and Richie Barker hasn't had an immediate impact but we've made some good signings at long last our defence looks a lot better. Morecambe are probably the only side this season we've well beaten when we beat them 3-0 at Fratton Park, and I think they're possibly on a downward trend, which might be a good time to play them. They already had a few injuries last week and other players were suffering with niggling injuries, with manager Jim Bentley admitting that due to the poor weather some players were unable to train most of last week. They then had the grueling five hour trip to and from Exeter after the game was called off with an hour to go (As if the ref had no access to a weather forecast!). I'm not sure what sort of training would have been completed this week however as the weather hasn't let up in many parts of the country. Training is crucial for Morecambe as they're fairly reliant on players like Kevin Ellison (who couldn't train all last week). We're also bring between 1000 and 1500 fans up to the Globe Arena, which will make it like a home tie. Morecambe only average around 3K, so that's half the stadium full of Pompey fans. There aren't any serious injuries I'm aware of, and Pompey should be in physically better shape really. Morecambe shipped off squad player Joe Mwasile on loan to Altrincham and promptly signed winger Jamie Devitt on loan from Chesterfield. Money is clearly still very tight as Devitt has joined umpteen sides on loan throughout his career and hasn't really settled. He's not had much game time either. If we can't pick up at least a point here I'll be a very very unhappy supporter. Morecambe haven't trained on grass for 4 weeks and some players like Kevin Ellison haven't been able to train at all.

Sir Bobby was an interested observer as Morecambe got some much-needed game time ahead of Portsmouth’s visit to the Globe Arena on Saturday. The Shrimps played out a 0-0 draw with a Manchester United Under 21 side at the Red Devils’ Carrington training ground on Tuesday with the 1966 World Cup winner amongst those taking in the game. The friendly, which took place next to a first-team training session, was hastily arranged after the Shrimps’ game at Exeter last weekend was called off. Morecambe boss Jim Bentley said: “It’s a great facility and we were playing on a pitch where the first team were next door to us. “Brian McClair and Clayton Blackmore were involved, Bobby Charlton even watched the first half and the were stood on a balcony watching the game. “It was great to rub shoulders with some of the best in the business. “I’m thankful to Warren Joyce and Les Parry who looked after us there. “It’s twice that we’ve done it now and it’s a really worthwhile exercise.” The game was organised out of necessity, with the bad weather meaning the Shrimps are unlikely to be able to train on grass ahead of the game against Pompey. She said: “We’ve been on astroturf the majority of the last three of four weeks with the bad weather we’ve been having. “Turner’s Field is under water at the minute so it’s been hard to get on grass. “With Jack Redshaw having his hip operation, Kevin Ellison has had a hip problem in the past and a couple of others don’t take too kindly to astroturf so they’ve had to do gym work. ?“We were meant to train at Cheltenham on the way down to Exeter and use their but that was under water. “And obviously with the game being called off I didn’t want to go another full week without being on grass leading up to a big game against Portsmouth. “The lads who had played the most games played 30 or 45 minutes but the others got 45 to an hour.” New loan arrival Jamie Devitt got an hour’s playing time under his belt with Ryan Williams also featuring for 20 minutes on his return from injury. Captain Mark Hughes should also be fit for the Pompey clash after having stitches in his shin while Marcus Marshall remains seven to 10 days away from a return due to a knee problem.

Re: Sky Bet League 2 > January 25th - 27th AFC Wimbledon - Exeter League 2 England Saturday 25/1 16:00 Prediction: AFC Wimbledon Odds: 2,32 Stake: 5/10 units Bookmaker: NordicBet Two teams next to eachother in the table, AFC Wimbledon placed 14th in the table against a Exeter placed 15th. Wimbledon played out an impressive 0-0 draw away to leaders Scunthorphe last weekend, even though they were under pressure they showed charachter. They have done some decent performances lately and even though they often play better against top sides we think this should be a decent chance here against an Exeter who look's like they lack self confidence and we doubt that they possess the same mental strenght as Wimbledon. Exeter lost their last game in 93rd minute away to Bristol Rovers, a goal which caused them even further problems in terms of confidence, tough loss for Exeter. Wimbledon lost their key defender A.Frampton against Scunthorpe due to a shoulder injury. However, Wimbledon has signed a defender named D.Jones who is a good replacement. Good chance here for Wimbledon!

Re: Sky Bet League 2 > January 25th - 27th Accrington - Bury League 2 England Saturday 25/1 16:00 Prediction: Over 2,5 goals Odds: 2,04 Stake: 4/10 units Bookmaker: PinnacleSports The bookmakers in our eyes here with the wrong favorite. 6/10 last Accrington games has gone over 2,5 goals. This young team has offensive quality but often lacks dicipline defensivily and its quite often you see some sloppy defending from Accrington. Bury often play's a risky 3-5-2 system, which we think in this game will lead to an open match with quite a few chances. 6/8 last Bury games has gone over 2,5 goals. h2h between these two teams in their last 12 matches, 7/12 has gone over 2,5 goals. For us, the over 2,5 goals should be favourite.

2-2, half won half void.... Just when you think we're getting tighter we let the lead slip twice :(

Re: Sky Bet League 2 > January 25th - 27th Another profitable weekend for us as we go 2 out of 4 with 110,47% ROI & +2,20 units for the day. But desperatly unlucky, should have been much more. Peterborough manage to lose the game away to Oldham despite being 3-0 up in HT. AFC Wimbledon and Tamworth won. Accrington game postponed. Rotherham had an off day and drew 2-2!

Re: Sky Bet League 2 > January 25th - 27th 4pts Scunthorpe vs Fleetwood - Over 2.5 goals 11/10 Paddy Power Both these sides had tough games on Saturday so we could see a couple of tired defences in this match, especially with the heavy conditions that players are having to play on at the minute. Both these sides score plenty of goals so I’m a little surprised that we’re getting odds against on over 2.5 goals, especially when both were involved in six goal thrillers just two days ago. I won’t pass those odds up. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/scunthorpe-vs-fleetwood-betting-goals-should-come-regularly-in-top-of-the-table-clash

Before the game on Saturday Scunthorpe had not conceded a goal in their last 4 matches. For me this could be a tight game from the two promotion chasing teams.
