Re: Sky Bet League 2 > Saturday December 14th Possible value on Pompey here against Newport. Richie Barker looks set to be appointed our new manager so by Saturday the "new manager syndrome" could come into play. Not that I believe in that but Barker does seem to have more experience at this level than Guy and is probably an up and coming young manager, where as Guy is much more of a coach. Although it is fairly misleading the fact Barker can put 'won League Two with Bury on his CV' as Alan Knill did all the hard work, and Barker only took over in April 2011. But nonetheless I'd love anything to take us away from this dreary defensive shit we've had under Andy Awford (caretaker). One up front last Saturday at home to Wycombe almost cost us. The good news is that Marcos Painter was on the bench that game, so maybe having an extra week will mean he comes back in at left back because when he initially arrived he gave us something we'd been missing. Newport are a different animal at home, and they've only scored once in their last five outings. I fancy us to get off to a winning start under new management, and at current prices we look back-able. We can score goals at home, so that's not a problem. It's just cutting out the individual defensive errors that is the sticking point - hopefully they'll see sense and bring Painter back in. Goalkeeper has to be a priority though in January as we haven't had a decent confident one all season. The other I like is Southend at Torquay. Southend are a side that haven't as yet been awarded the same status as other much fancied sides like Chesterfield or Fleetwood, but they were impressive again on Saturday dumping Chesterfield out of the FA Cup. The score was 3-1 but could easily have been more as Barry Corr had a penalty saved. Torquay are a relatively poor League Two outfit and have won once at home all season way back in September, scoring only twice in their last five home fixtures. Southend are in complete contrast having won four of their last five aways, losing only to Newport who are strong at home. They have the meanest defence in League Two and this should be a tight game, but I'd back Southend to come out on top. The odds, at around 2.2 look decent enough to me. Freddy Eastwood returned to the bench on Saturday too, so I would expect him to come right back into contention against Torquay following an injury that has kept him out for around a month. Southend's winning run in the league came to an abrupt end last week when they looked like taking another three points at home to Cheltenham, but the penalty gods conspired against them with the equaliser coming deep into second half injury time.

Re: Sky Bet League 2 > Saturday December 14th Chesterfield vs Plymouth over 2,5 goals at 2.20 seems to be the best bet to me in this division today. The games seems like an easy win for the home side, but with the odds for a chesterfield wind at 1.8, I rather go for the over 2.5 goals market, because one goal from Plymouth makes the over 2.5 market more valuable that a Chesterfield win.

Chesterfield vs Plymouth over 2' date='5 goals at 2.20 seems to be the best bet to me in this division today.
