12.40 Fairyhouse Alonso 9/2 BetVictor BOG A very interesting race with several strong lines of form. Alonso is the choice of Walsh and the Mullins horses are flying. This is an interesting choice as Arctic Fire would have won a hot maiden hurdle easily at Gowran lto had he not clipped heals and come down. Alonso gained a bloodless victory at Wexford and is obviously showing more. Gilt Shadow was very impressive lto and can chase him home. 1 Point win for nap purposes Alonso 9/2 BetVictor BOG

Initially I was disappointed that he could not win LTO - but looking thro the form of the winner, I still think it is the best form on offer. His conquerer there, Morning Assembly had won his previous two - which included a 10L defeat of Corbally Ghost ( 4th ) and that one IMO would have given Champayne Fever a close race had he not really clouted one! ( Rider lost Irons). I don't think any of the other runners wins stand up to this smart form and I think the selection will make amends here.
