7.30 Wolverhampton This is a weak affair and hard to recommend any of these. Reginauld Claude isn’t the most straightforward but when putting it all together he is useful at this level. This mark just about sums him up though being 1lb above highest winning mark and 4lb above last winning mark. Ivestar has gone totally the wrong way since winning over CD back here in January, has now dropped 4lb below last winning mark but needs to show something more now back on the polytrack. Big Storm Coming showed glimmers of hope in 3 maidens on all 3 surfaces, polytrack, fibresand and turf. Breeding a bit confusing on this one given he is related to several sprinters but breeding may suggest he may appreciate a stepup to 7f and the way he ran in the maidens would also suggest a step up in trip. Spencer interesting booking only ridden 6 times for yard over past 5 years and yard renowned for improving older handicappers but may be able to bring this one on into handicaps. Gonna take a chance on Copper Leyf again he has caught my eye on a number of occasions on the AW recently. He has often finished off well from some pretty unpromising positions. The application of cheekpieces may help bring out that little bit more of improvement required to get off the mark. Plus yard have hit a real hot streak with 4 wins from 9 runners in last 14 days and losers haven’t been beaten far neither. 0.5pt e/w Copper Leyf 8/1 bet365

Re: BBOTD Thurs 12th Sept 5.00pm @ Doncaster 'Hot Bed' 6/1 (Ladbrokes) 3rd last time in a good handicap at York when doing all best work at the finish suggests the extra distance here should be perfect. Another tough race tomorrow but as the stable are sending it over again I think they fancy their chances of taking this one. Fallon's strength should suit the horse so if he can find an untroubled passage, admittedly not something he's renowned for, he can hopefully push it over the line in a tight finish. 1 point win
