Re: Ligue 1 Orange > 13th - 15th September Bordeaux – PSG Bordeaux don’t really have any absences for this match, with the exception of CB Marc Planus who is injured. It looks like we’ll finally see Lucas Orban in a Bordeaux shirt because he’s included in the squad for tonight’s match. PSG have Javier Pastore injured (which might be a good thing!), although Lavezzi is also unavailable. Because PSG had a number of players involved in international matches midweek, and also because they have a forthcoming CL game, I’d expect to see plenty of rotation here. I’m not exactly sure who will start and who won’t but they won’t line up at full strength. Truth be told I haven’t been impressed with PSG this season. They seem to be lacking in a number of areas, but team cohesion is their main issue. They just haven’t gotten out of the starting blocks very quickly and the international break won’t have helped them. Few players will have remained at the club so it’s not as if Laurent Blanc could work on much. A full house of fans will be at Le Stade Chaban Delmas for this match and the atmosphere will be really intense. II think its a really tough banana skin fixture for PSG at a venue where they usually struggle. They managed to win here last season for just the first time since 2005, but they are going to have to play significantly better tonight if they are to pick up 3 points. I feel its a good time to be taking on Les Parisians and I think Bordeaux are going to be able to pick up at least a draw. I can’t ignore a +0.5 handicap here and they are worth a few units. Prediction: Bordeaux 1-1 PSG Recommended bet: Bordeaux +0.5 @ 1.99 4/10

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > 13th - 15th September Sorry about the Bordeaux pick, absolutely terrible call by me and PSG totally deserved to win. Bordeaux were absolutely awful last night. Toulouse – Marseille TFC have no new injuries to deal with although their squad has seen a fair amount of change in recent weeks with numerous players both arriving and leaving at the club. From what I’ve seen so far this season they’ve lacked team chemistry, and understandably so. Marseille are going to have to deal with that too though now because they welcome both new men, Florian Thauvin and Mario Lemina into their squad. Also consider the fact that Saber Khelifa is also quite new and its not as if everyone is totally familiar with each other yet. Souley Diawara is injured which means Lucas Mendes should start at the back, whilst left winger Andre Ayew is suspended. This is not always an easy place to visit for big matches, but it’s probably a good time for OM to be facing Toulouse. The hosts just haven’t clicked yet this season and are still adapting to the changes which have occurred within the squad. OM are the better team and if they want to maintain any sort of title challenge then this is the sort of fixture which they must win. I don’t think this’ll be a classic by any means, but I could definitely see Elie Baup’s visitors sneaking something like a 1-0 win. A DNB handicap is available on Marseille which seems pretty acceptable to me. This offers some nice security in case of a draw, but hopefully this one ends up as an away win. Prediction: Toulouse 0-1 Marseille Recommended bet: Marseille 0 @ 1.91 4/10 Ajaccio – Evian ACA have no new injuries to deal with but key midfield lynchpin Ricardo Faty remains sidelined with achilles tendon issues. In attack, the duo of Eduardo and Oliech both remain out too, CB Tonucci is another absentee. They are given a boost by the return of midfielder fighter Johan Cavalli though. For Evian, the big news is that their experienced stalwart Cedric Barbosa is injured and won’t travel with the squad. I think they’ll miss him quite a lot because he’s such a key part of their squad in many ways. Fabrice Ehret is also injured which is a blow because he started the season in pretty good form. Finally, new striker Reuben remains sidelined for a few more weeks yet. It’s true that Ajaccio haven’t really started the season too well, but they’ve at least managed to fight enough to pick up 3 consecutive draws. They are a very negative team under new coach Fabrizio Ravanelli but also hard to beat. Evian meanwhile, have shown some pretty encouraging signs this year and played some attractive football. But they won’t be allowed to get into any sort of rhythm here because Ajaccio will completely stem the flow. This will be a very ‘bitty’ match and ugly to watch, I don’t see it being very entertaining. I’m not a massive fan of backing Ajaccio here but this is a forced bet. The bookies have this line set up wrong and there is no way ACA should be so big on a DNB handicap. Both teams are evenly matched and you have to respect Ajaccio’s home advantage on the island of Corsica. There is value on this bet, even though I’m not totally convinced Ajaccio can get the win. Prediction: Ajaccio 1-0 Evian Recommended bet: Ajaccio 0 @ 1.97 4/10 Guingamp – Bastia Both teams have squads in good condition. Guingamp will be unchanged, save for the fact that right back Jonathan Martins Pereira is suspended. Likewise, Bastia have a suspension at the fullback position as Julien Palmieri misses out. Ryad Boudbouz is in the squad for the visitors and may well make a starting debut. Romaric misses out due to travel issues following his international involvement midweek. The bookies seriously overrate Guingamp here. How can they be only 2.0 on a -0.5 line at home against Bastia seriously? Remember, they are a newly promoted team and despite looking ok, they’ve only managed one win so far. Bastia are the better of the two teams but have big travelling issues. I honestly think there is some value on the visitors but you’d have to be a bit crazy to back the Corsicans on the road, its just not usually a good idea. As it happens, I do think Guingamp will get the win because they know they have to pick up results in front of their own fans. But there’s no way I’m interested when their odds are so short. Prediction: Guingamp 2-1 Bastia Recommended bet: None Montpellier – Reims MHSC have the midfield duo of Marveaux and Saihi still injured, but their real issues are on the left wing where both Mounier and Bakar are suspended. I’m not totally sure who is going to start there, probably Camara or Cabella, but this might mean they have to then go with 2 strikers upfront. Reims have their new Israeli striker Atar injured for this game, left back Franck Signorino is also ruled out. The bookies are a bit short on Montpellier, but not significantly enough to warrant a bet on Reims. Both teams do seem more even this season though and Reims have looked better on the road than they did last year. I’m not sure which way this game will go. Montpellier are usually a powerhorse at home and have to be respected here, but the visitors are capable of getting something. I’m thinking something like a 1-1 draw could be a possibility, but it’s not a match I’m interested in betting on. Prediction: Montpellier 1-1 Reims Recommended bet: None Nantes – Sochaux Nantes have CB Cichero injured for this game, along with right winger Eudeline. Fabrice Pancrate is also on the sidelines in addition to new signing Johan Audel. Sochaux still have a few guys on the treatment table, but have no new injuries to deal with. They do however have CB Cedric Kante suspended. Sochaux have been worryingly poor so far this season but there’s no way Nantes deserve to be such an odds on shot here. They are as low as 1.75 in places, which is absolutely ridiculous. How will they cope with such strong favoritism and the pressure to win? I’m not sure, although admittedly I do give them the edge. I think Les Canaris will win the game but I can’t be backing them at this price. Prediction: Nantes 1-0 Sochaux Recommended bet: None Valenciennes – St Etienne VA’s injury situation is better now, although right backs Nery (inj) and Mater (susp) will miss this contest. In attack, Bahebeq is ruled out too, but generally the squad is in much better condition. St Etienne meanwhile, have a handful of injuries, left back Brison and striker Brandao are the most notable absentees. They do however welcome new signing Mevlut Erding into their squad and fellow *new* man Yohan Mollo is also included. Reluctantly, I’m forced into a small bet on Valenciennes here. They are underrated too much by the bookies here and I don’t think that Sainte deserve to be such strong favourites. I don’t like this VA team much and I don’t rate them, but this is some value which I can’t ignore. Prediction: Valenciennes 2-1 St Etienne Recommended bet: Valenciennes 0AH @ 2.38 3/10

Re: Ligue 1 Orange > 13th - 15th September Hello, everyone. First of all, I'd like to apologize for being a bit off-topic in the first part of my post. I have been following this forum for quite a while, yet I've been too "shy" to make any contributions on my own. There are some great and helpful contributors here, whose posts and reasonings have helped me greatly in developing my approach to betting, and for that and I'd like to say "Thank you" to the whole community. Apart from that, my reason for posting is the Lyon - Rennes game tomorrow. It seems that out of last 11 head-to-head games between these two teams, 6 have finished with a draw, all of them ending 1:1. And when Lyon is the host, last 4 out of 6 games between these two teams ended in that score. While I might be wrong, I consider the French league to have a bit more draw occurrences than average. Lyon have yet to draw a game this season, and maybe the time for that is tomorrow. The bets I'll be making considering this game are: Correct score 1:1 @ 7.00 Draw @ 3.30 The odds for the draw are from bet365, while the ones for the correct score are from a local bookie, since the price is a bit higher. Might consider adding BTTS to the daily accumulator, as it seems to happen a lot when these two sides are paired. While it might not be related to this game in particular, I'd like to point out that last season 8 out of 10 of Lyon's draws have finished 1:1. Most of the time I'm not a fan of "statistical betting" as I give much more importance to form, style of play and such factors while analyzing a game, but sometimes games like this catch my attention and I try my luck with small stakes. Good luck with your bets.
