swampster
this applies online as well as live. Been playing some live tournaments recently (my own as well as casino) and one thing i cant f**king stand is guys gloating over winning hands. You know the ones, they bluff you out of a pot or steal in with a full house and it smells of their farts for hours ! what's the etiquette ? should this be allowed ? I've come close to barring a guy from my game for doing it every time (aside from the fact that he's pretty good)
GETT1NLOTS
Re: What do you do about bad winners ? All depends on my mood. Normally I tell them to "fcuk off" because I have no patience for idiocy. However this isn't the 'done thing' either. Etiquette would probably demand you ignore all chat - good and bad. When I started playing I never said a word (believe it or not) unless it was to say "Raise", "Call", or "Check". Come to think of it - life was easier playing that way. Online you can switch chat to silent. This is another good idea if you get easily irritated.
Jezza
Re: What do you do about bad winners ? I always think it shows great character to take losing as you take winning....If someone is really asking for it on online poker I dont mind telling them to stfu (as in harrasing another player or berating the table or whatever). In rl I guess its hard to hide your obvious delight when you brutally river someone in a gigantic pot...there is a difference between that and rubbing it in mind you which is beyond the boundarys. swampster
Re: What do you do about bad winners ? yeah,. was playing a game the other week with mates (and some guys we didnt know) - a friend of mine who can get a bit over-excited when hes had a few won the whole tourney (£160 first prize) - and he waved the prize money in the runner-ups face. Had a massive go at him later in the week and he couldnt see he'd done anything wrong !
