Flat Racing Mon 19th Aug

7.50 Wolverhampton Piccolo Mondo is a risky bet with a record of 0 from 21. Not the most obvious sort to win this for all he is very consistent. Not totally convinced he needs 7f though and probably worth taking on again. Dancing Welcome has shown nothing this season until last time out in a weak selling handicap when only just failing to get up. Is 10lb higher back on the AW and does need to back that effort up now for all AW record is pretty good. Loyal N Trusted does have some AW form to give him a chance although handicapper looking in charge at present, and last 2 efforts disappointing. Bang Tidy isn’t always reliable but should relish this return to 7f and remains on a reasonable mark just not one to take at a short price. Lucy Bee ran a career best last time out to win but a 6lb penalty make life a lot tougher. Admirals Walk has been kept very busy lately but has at least been running well, not sure a drop back to 7f is ideal though and may find this coming to soon just 2 days after last run. Black Truffle ran a brilliant race all things considered last time out in first time eyeshields at Lingfield. He was given a strange ride tuck up well off the pace to finish extremely well and look well treated, has been put up a 1lb but clearly going the right way on the polytrack and a repeat of latest with a little more positive riding he could make a mockery of his mark. Nordikhab was a length behind Black Truffle last time out but he was given a much more positive ride so hard to see how he is going to turn around that form. 2pt win Black Truffle 7/1 VC 8.50 Wolverhampton Delightful Sleep continues to run well but does remain 5lb above last winning mark so does need to find just that little bit more. Unex Michelangelo could well make a mockery of this lineup, he has plummeted in the weights after hardly beating a rival. Only went down a short head last time out and a repeat of that back on polytrack he would have to go close but not gonna take 6/4 about a horse that runs a race like that out of the blue and on a very different track to Wolves, Beverley is pretty unique and stiff. Thewinningmachine hasn’t stood much racing but won last time out in a weak race and that form has already took several knocks. Handicapper only put up 2lb and still unexposed, although first 2 runs after long break were on polytrack and showed nothing but possibly needed the runs. Arabian Flight has just 1 win from 35 and not convinced she is totally putting it all in when asked and remains one to avoid despite consistency. Tatting run his best race for some time last time out when finishing well last time out, 2lb higher again today but still 2lb below last winning mark. This trip is as short as he wants to go and that is a slight concern. Odd Ball is more than capable off this mark and first time cheekpieces may help him improve as he has been abysmal this year. Yard remain without a winner. For me Opus Maximus might be worth a risk at a decent price. He hasn’t been lucky in the draw tonight but he is a hold up horse. He has ran 2 races with credit over this CD before disappointing last time out back on turf. He is dangerously well handicapped with last win coming back in 2011 off a mark of 75 running off 50 today although losing run is mounting up yard may be just finding him again. 1pt e/w Opus Maximus 12/1 pp

Re: Flat Racing Mon 19th Aug 6.10 Roscommon Cheval Rouge 12/1 Skybet BOG Winner of this last year carrying much more weight, Cheval Rouge won lto at Sligo and is in good form. Needs rain but is getting some. Will be hard to beat in a difficult race. 5 Points e/w Cheval Rouge 12/1 Skybet BOG 3.30 Thirsk Its A Mans World 8/1 boylesports BOG Its A Mans World won this last year and has won here a few times. Has cut little ice since its last win here in May but his rating has dropped now to giving him every chance of completing the double today. 5 Points e/w Its A Mans World 8/1 boylesports 5.00 Thirsk See Clearly 4/1 Paddy Power BOG Sea Clearly won twice as a 2yo and once last year in this race. On her penultimate outing she was beaten 1/2 Length by Champagne Diva over course and distance. The stable usually has its horses in good form coming up to York and although carrying 5lbs more than last year is a year older and stronger. ~Taking everything into account she is very much the one to beat here. 5 Points e/w See Clearly 4/1 Paddy Power BOG
