19:20 Stratford 2m 6f 110yds Class 5 102 Touch FM Handicap Hurdle Selection: Listen And Learn AP McCoy has three rides booked at Stratford and his best chance of a winners looks like being Listen And Learn in the handicap hurdle at 19.20. Listen And Learn had a promising start to his career, he was just beaten by a short head on his debut over 2m 1f in a National Hunt Flat Race at Newton Abbot, but he followed that race up with a win over the same distance in another National Hunt Flat Race at Bangor. In both of these races he stayed on strongly, suggesting that a step up in trip was only round the corner. However he was then switched to hurdling and had four runs over the obstacles between 2m – 2m 2f in Class 4 company, he disappointed each race with form figures reading 979P for those efforts but he was stepped up to 2m 6f last time out and signs of improvement were seen, he was beaten 19 1/4 lengths in the end by the winner but finished 4th of 15. He should find conditions to suit today, sticking at the 2m 6f distance and the good ground should be ideal. Also now 2lb lower on a mark of 94 and dropping back in class to Class 5 company, under AP McCoy this horse may take all the beating in this race. His main danger looks to be the current market leader, Royal Peak, he won by 19 lengths on his latest effort over C&D but he has been raised 15lb for that victory.
