joeblitz
2.20 Galway Rebel Fitz 8/15 Paddy Power BOG A race revolving around Rebel Fitz and quite simply if he jumps around, he wins. Ground and trip are fine and on this day last year he won the Galway hurdle. He looks a certainty. 10 Points win Rebel Fitz 8/15 Paddy Power BOG 4.15 Galway Bally Longford 15/8 Paddy Power BOG Prior to running over hurdles this horse was disappointing but since going over hurdles he has improved finishing runner up fto at Clonmel in May before running out an impressive winner there over 20f in June on yielding. He looks to be still improving and can take care of Cailin Annamh, Our Man Zebo and Benemede all who look as though they are better on faster ground. 10 Points win Bally Longford 15/8 Paddy Power BOG 4.55 Galway Ted Veale 6/1 BetFred Misunited, a course and distance winner last year on soft has a great chance off 10-8 having won and run well on the flat susequently. She would be my selection under normal circumstances. However it is very hard to ignore the claims of Ted Veale whose trainer has saddled 5 and won 5 at the festival so far. This horse won at the Cheltenham festival and was runner up to Jezki in the Champion novice hurdle at Punchestown. All ground seems to come alike to him and won his prep race in Bellewstown on the flat easily last month beating stable companion Blackmail which won easily yesterday. He flopped last year in a maiden hurdle here when only 3rd. However he can be forgiven that run as it was his first over hurdles and the stable wasn't in great form then either. The stable is on fire now. 10 Points win Ted Veale 6/1 BetFred
Aidymac
Re: Jump Racing Thursday 1st August Galway 4:55 - Guinness Galway Hurdle In summary, although Tony Martin has two in the race, I really do fancy Ted Veale. It may be an unoriginal choice, but he won the County Hurdle at Cheltenham with such ease that it is hard not to fancy him here. He is a very strong traveller and runs for a yard that is banging in the winners all week. I feel that the Willie Mullins trained Pique Sous may give the favourite the most to do as the ground is now very much in his favour and Ruby chose this horse over all the rest.
