Falmouth Stakes Giofra has come from France, to try to win the race two years in succession. She beat Elusive Kate in this contest last year, and is sure to be trained specifically with this race in mind. She offers much better value than Elusive Kate at around the 9/2 mark with Bet365. I do believe that Sky Lantern should be slightly odds-on for this contest. She has by far the best form in the book this season, and I thought she was mind-boggling last time out overcoming that bad draw. She has a very quick turn of foot, stays well and has loads of power. Richard Hughes has been doing very well the last couple of years and I am sure he will give the filly an enterprising ride. Falmouth Stakes Just 4 declared for the Group 1 on Friday, looks a decent field, but why has this only attracted 4 runners when the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot had a field of 17? Sky Lantern looks the most obvious winner, she's had some tough races though so far this season and could be worth opposing with Elusive Kate though. She's only had the 1 run so far this season when she was 4th in the Queen Anne, behind Declaration of War who chased home Al Kazeem in the Coral Eclipse last Saturday. She should improve for that run and at 5/2 could be the selection.
