MOONEE VALLEY RACE 3 @ 1:10pm AEST: The Simpson Construction Handicap is a 1200m race for 3 year old fillies where the 3.0 favourite with Bet365 is SHE CAN SKATE. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: High speed here. From the inside SHE CAN SKATE, NELLA FANTASIA and KOLONGA fight for the lead. ROYAL SCANDAL, OCTAVIA and MAY RAIN just off the leaders with DAY AFTER TOMORROW, THE LADY ROCKS and YULEBU behind them, looks a race where all runners will get their chance but there is a high probability of something ridden off the speed winning barring track bias and luck. RACE ANALYSIS: Good race with a few different form lines engaged. OCTAVIA brings some strong autumn carnival form lines to the race and looks very hard to beat if she is right to go. She is yet to run a bad race in her 7 career starts thus far. She was a dominant winner at this track and distance in career start 4 and went onto be a Listed winner of the Kevin Hayes Stakes where she defeated Angelic Light who went onto be Group 1 placed and Meliora who ended up winning a Group 2 race, so the form has held up strongly. She is well weighted after Tom Sandlers 2kgs claim, Sandler has won on her before and she looks likely to get a nice run from the good gate. SUMMER GEM can be the sharp improver; she was given no chance first up when back and wide after being very well backed in the market late. She has drawn better today and should get sufficient speed to suit. MOONEE VALLEY RACE 5 @ 2.22pm AEST: The Dominant Handicap is a 2040m race for 3 year olds and upwards where the 1.90 favourite with Bet365 is MR O’CEIRIN. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: The speed looks reasonably good here. KUPITO LAD, MR O’CEIRIN or CONSTANT FORCE could take up the running. UPBEAT and FRIDAY HUSSEY won’t be far away with DE FINE LAGO and OAK HEART next in line. The remainder of the field settle midfield or beyond in a race where all runners should get their chance barring bad luck or track bias. RACE ANALYSIS: MR O’CEIRIN meets a similar field as he did last start and looks clearly the one to beat again. After running a terrific race first up at Caulfield, when he sprinted from the tail to finish under two lengths from potential top liner Strawberry Boy he then stepped up in distance to the 2040m at Moonee Valley. He was made to work early before settling well on the pace and taking control with 500m to go and winning comprehensively. He only rises 0.5kgs on that dominant victory, he’ll be fitter, he loves Moonee Valley, and although Glen Boss comes off, he gains the services of Steve Arnold.
