Any advice, im playing live tonight for the first time. Tournament at the local casino £10 buy in and unlimited re-buy in for the first two hours pot limit, until final table. Been told there should be about 100 of us, im off work tomorrow so hopefully it should be a long night. I've read the live tell, that Jez posted earlier, and took some other advice from other sources, so should be a good night. Only slight worry is i understand pot limit, but am not 100% on how to work out what the pot actullay is, i know its probably simple, but could someone let me know. Anyway wish me luck, i'll post sometime tomorrow to let you all know how i did, the other half keeps telling me i'll be home by 10, after the first punters lounge tournament when i went out within 45 secs.

Re: Going Live Hi Northen, Live poker is great fun, you should have a good night. I play in a tenner rebuy tourney as well live at my local casino and it will be the same for you as it is everywhere during the rebuys and that is...roullete with cards :lol . Basically during the rebuys there will be FREQUENT raises preflop and multiway pots with shite cards. This is all a bit of fun and an attempt to basically buy chips - if you dont mind a few rebuys then go for it as having a large stack after the rebuys stop is a definate advantage - if you dont want too many rebuys then be a lot tighter than you usually would be especially from early position (As far more likely there will be a raise after you limp). As for pot limit, it works like this :- When it comes to you state you are going to raise first then first of all you put whatever you have to in the pot to call/match the others raise. Then after you have done that everything in the middle is added up and that is the pot max you can raise. for example : Someone bets 20 at a pot of 40 - you want to raise the pot back so you put your 20 in and this makes 20+40+20 80 as the raise - so you have put a total of 100 chips in the pot. Or the blinds are at 100 and 200 - it gets folded round to you on the button and you raise the pot, this would be 200 + 500 for a total of 700. Hope this helps, gl Jez
