chris34
7.30 Windsor Tropics is very hard to look past, not stood much racing for a 5 year old but the entry into the Wokingham clearly means yard hold him in high regards. He looked badly in need of first run of the season at Ascot but not beaten far and fitted with the hood next time out over this CD he absolutely bolted up, this is a stronger race but even so he left the impression there was plenty more to come and a 6lb rise in the weights looks extremely lenient. Would expect ground to dry out further too good ground again. 2pt win Tropics 11/4 coral 7.45 Carlisle Barney Mcgrew is a very interesting runner here, he ran an eye catching race last time out travelling very strongly into the race and perhaps let the leaders get away a little bit but finished really well and clearly came on for his first run of the season as you would expect for a 10 year old. He hasn’t won for sometime but his mark has tumbled and is very dangerously handicapped if he can back that effort up. Last handicap win came off a mark of 100 and is now rated 78 so 22lb below his last winning mark, and although not won since 2010 he ran some good races last year and backed efforts up so be no surprise to see him go well again returned to faster conditions. 2pt win Barney Mcgrew 5/1 VC
