[h=1]Morphettville Betting: The Victorian's to raid the South Australian money in a solid edition of the Derby[/h]

t580_bd9_Shoreham-1367388268_n.jpg MORPHETTVILLE RACE 7 @ 3.35pm: The Centrebet South Australian Derby is a Group 1 2500m race for 3 year olds where the 4.0 favourite with Centrebet is HVASSTAN HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: Doesn’t look a huge amount of speed on paper. BEL THOR and PINS OF PELE might cross over from wide barriers and take up the running but this is not certain. SHOREHAM from barrier 3 settles handy as will HVASSTAN most probably with Glen Boss on board. The rest of the field settle midfield and beyond in a race that may suit the on-pacers. RACE ANALYSIS: SHOREHAM is an out and out stayer proven a fortnight ago when he stepped up to 2500m and destroyed a handy field of 3 year olds at Flemington. He’d been running well without much luck at the barrier draws, drawing 15 and 13 in his two starts leading into his latest victory. He finally drew a gate and got to a distance which looked like suiting and could not have been more impressive. Out of that race MCNAULTY, BASANO, and LIKE A CAROUSEL who SHOREHAM soundly beat have run well in the Listed St Legar. He draws perfectly again today in barrier 3 and jockey Chris Symonds sticks with him. He is probably one of only 3 runners that has no question mark hanging over his head at the distance. MCNAULTY was terrific behind HIPOPUS in last weeks St Legar. He settled near last and came home with a swift turn of foot but was beaten by a smart one. He’ll get back again here and be one of the strongest late. GENTORIOUS has been running on well in stronger races than this, he’ll relish the drop in grade here and looks one of the main chances. http://www.betzone.com.au/morphettville-betting-the-victorian-s-to-raid-the-south-australian-money-in-a-solid-edition-of-the-derby-20130506
