DeanK
[h=1]Flemington Betting: 3 good wagering options to get the day off to a flyer in the Spotless Handicap[/h] FLEMINGTON RACE 2 @ 12:40pm AEST: The Spotless Handicap is a 1600m race for horses rated between 0-89 where the 5.5 favourite with Centrebet is FELIDEA. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: The speed looks non-existent here. SECESSIO may lead by default or perhaps CHILE EXPRESS might cross over from the wide gate but he does have a tendency to be slowly away. MURDOCHS JOY, FELIDEA and SWEET ELLA may settle next but that is unclear, it looks a race where the best/smartest ride might be enough to win the race. RACE ANALYSIS: Tricky race with the lack of tempo. SECESSIO looks likely to get an extremely soft time of it on pace and ran a forward race first up for a stayer resuming. After winning and placing in Listed races in Germany, he came to Australia for trainer Chris Waller and had a successful campaign last preparation which culminated in a terrific win over 2000m on a bog track at Rosehill. He defeated Angola on this occasion and he went on to win two starts later. Today he steps up to 1600m after a solid run at 1400m and gains the services of in-form jockey Craig Newitt. The query is whether the 1600m will be too short. ERASET drops back to a ratings race for the first time in 13 starts, the last time he was in this grade of race he won easily, he had no luck last start when blocked for clear running and once clear he sprinted home well. He loves this track and trip the query however is the barrier. ROCK PRINCESS has had two runs back from a spell and on both occasions she found the line terrifically well. She’ll get back in the run again here which may not suit, but her turn of foot is quite sharp so if she is close enough with 400m to go she’s a big chance at odds. http://www.betzone.com.au/flemington-betting-3-good-wagering-options-to-get-the-day-off-to-a-flyer-in-the-spotless-handicap-20130506
DeanK
Re: Flemington Betting 04/05/2013 [h=1]Flemington Betting: Ex-Gai Waterhouse runner debuts for Peter Moody and looks the one to beat in the Secondbite Fresh Food Rescue[/h] FLEMINGTON RACE 3 @ 1.15pm AEST: The Secondbite Fresh Food Rescue is a 1400m open Handicap for 3 year olds and upwards where the 2.20 favourite with Centrebet is STRAWBERRY BOY. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: Looks reasonable speed here with one variable. STRAWBERRY BOY and PARTHIAN are certain to push towards the lead. HAWKS BAY has raced on-speed first up in the past but is no certainty to go forward. OFFENDERS probably box seats from barrier 5 while the remainder of the runners settle midfield or beyond in a race where all should get their chance barring bad luck and track bias. RACE ANALYSIS: STRAWBERRY BOY is probably the most interesting runner on the whole program. The ex-Gai Waterhouse trained galloper is having his first start for Peter Moody and looks quite well placed to keep in-tact his fantastic record. He resumed last preparation with a resounding 2.3L victory at Warwick Farm defeating Keith’s Legacy who will start favourite in a Group 3 race at Hawkesbury on the same day. Out of that race came other horses who have gone onto win multiply races such as Snitsky, New Beginning, Hoylonny, and Whitlam. He then made it two in a row with another dominant display beating Jacquinot Bay (giving him 3.5kg) who then went on to win his next two. http://www.betzone.com.au/flemington-betting-ex-gai-waterhouse-runner-debuts-for-peter-moody-and-looks-the-one-to-beat-in-the-secondbite-fresh-food-rescue
