[h=1]Flemington Anzac Day Betting: Champion jockey Michael Rodd to steer Orlando's Bride to victory in the Kokoda Track Handicap[/h]

t569_b5d_Michael-Rodd_13957_n.jpg FLEMINGTON RACE 8 @ 5:08pm AEST: The Kokoda Track Handicap is a 0-82 rated mares race over 1610m where the 4.00 favourite with Sportsbet is IMOTO. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: Big field and there looks to be plenty of speed here. EMOOKIES STAR, MIN RIVER and MOSCOW PEARL all head towards the lead. HISSTAR, IMOTO, and MAGIC TIGRESS drawn the inside 3 barriers settle handy while the remainder of the runners settle midfield or beyond in a race where every mare should get their chance. RACE ANALYSIS: Tough way to end a challenging card of racing. ORLANDO’S BRIDE appeals here each way. She has come back from a spell in tremendous form firstly winning a handy 0-75 ratings race on Adelaide Cup Day after settling well back in the field and storming to the line over the concluding stages to get up in a photo. She then stepped up to an open mares handicap over 1400m where she was suited to the fast tempo and ran on well, suggesting the step up to 1600m will be ideal. She drops in class here to a 0-82 rated race which effectively is a 0-78 rated race with the scratching’s of the two top weights. She’s drawn ideally for a nice midfield run, the speed looks suitable, Flemington is also likely to be up her alley and champion jockey Michael Rodd takes the ride. http://www.betzone.com.au/flemington-anzac-day-betting-champion-jockey-michael-rodd-to-steer-orlando-s-bride-to-victory-in-the-kokoda-track-handicap--2013

Re: Flemington Betting 25/04/2013 [h=1]Flemington Anzac Day Betting: Mick Kent's promising staying to upstage more fancied rivals in the St Leger[/h]

t570_f53_Mick-Kent_16291_n.jpg FLEMINGTON RACE 6 @ 3:56pm AEST: The VRC St Leger is a 2800m listed race for 3 year olds where the 2.50 favourite with Bet365 is HIPPOPUS. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: For a 2800m race there is a fair bit of speed in this. SERPENT, KEMTAIN, HIPPOPUS, and KING OF OLYMPIA push towards the lead. GREEN ROLLER, CAPTIAN SMITH and MASTERS DEGREE all can settle handy or push on towards the lead. The remainder of the field settle midfield or beyond in a race where all horses will get their chance barring track bias and luck in running. RACE ANALYSIS: HIPPOPUS brings by far and away the best form to this race but the question is will he stay the 2800m. The price on offer is far too short to find out and there looks to be value in other runners. I speak of MCNULTY who is yet to win a race but is looking as though the 2800m will suit ideally here. He got back in the field last start at his first go at the 2500m and was as strong as anything late in the race. Mick Kent has always had a lot of time for him and he is a terrific judge of a stayer. The good pace on paper should suit and the appointment of Vlad Duric to ride can only enhance his chances. HIPPOPUS is the obvious with form through the likes of IT’S A DUNDEEL and PHILIPPI, if he stays the journey he will win but he is too short in the market to find out. http://www.betzone.com.au/flemington-anzac-day-betting-mick-kent-s-promising-staying-to-upstage-more-fancied-rivals-in-the-st-leger-20130429
