CAULFIELD RACE 6 @ 3:15pm AEST: The 7-Eleven Pink Ribbon Cup is a 1400m Listed Race for 3 year olds and upward where the 2.7 favourite with Bet365 is CLUB COMMAND. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: There doesn’t look a great deal of speed on paper. A few of these like to settle on-pace but are not necessarily speed horses. CLUB COMMAND probably leads from stable mates PARTHIAN and OFFENDERS. NIBLICK and UNDER THE EIFELL settle just behind them with SPEEDINESS and CENTENNIAL PARK next and the stayer resuming in ZABEELIONAIRE to bring up the rear. Looks an on-pacers race. RACE ANALYSIS: Looks the perfect race for CLUB COMMAND here after two terrific runs back from a spell. He resumed in the Thoroughbred Stakes, his first go at Listed open age level racing and he acquitted himself terrifically being downed by the barest of margins by stable mate Ready To Rip who boasts a 2^nd to Buffering over the spring. He then went to Moonee Valley in a race where there was mad speed up front and after drawing a good gate he ended up worse than midfield near the fence in an impossible position turning for home. Once he was clear he made good ground but the bird had already flown and he finished 4^th in a race that he should have gone close to winning. CAULFIELD RACE 3 @ 1:20pm AEST: The Story Landscaping Handicap is an 1800m race for 3 year olds and upwards where the 3.30 favourite with Sportsbet is WHISPER DOWNS. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: Doesn’t look massive speed on paper. COSMIC CAUSEWAY probably shoots across from the wide gate to lead with FINIGUERRA and FABRIANO handy. HARRY TRIMBOLE settles next in line with the remainder of the field settling midfield or beyond in a race where the on-pacers might be suited. RACE ANALYSIS: Tricky race made even harder the likelihood of a slow tempo. Even considering there is no speed in the race, I think PRECEDENCE can run a big race at odds here. He was terrific first up in the Victoria Handicap when settling back in a leader dominated race over an unsuitable journey. He found the line swiftly suggesting the rise to 1800m will be ideal. 2^nd up last preparation he met a similar field with the same weight over 1600m at Moonee Valley. It was a slowly run race and he was able to be close enough to the leaders with 300m to go and his class prevailed over the concluding stages to win well. I think he can do the same again here, his form throughout his career monsters everything in this race and he is a proven weight carrying.
