Flat Racing Wed 17th April 2013

Recommended Posts

A few members have posted one of Mr Hannon's runners in the BBOTD section that being Sky Lantern, i wish them the best of luck but i'll take him on. Not been seen for 186 days and last time out here at HQ got ZERO luck in running, if today's race pans out a little better this 3yr old bay filly MUST have a great chance once again under K.Fallon. Her CV reads.....5 runs with only the one win under her belt BUT she's always finished in the top three home, she could return ANYTHING today but make no mistake trainer Mr L.Cumani will have her 100% SPOT ON for this race. Course - Trip - going - jockey all make for a confident choice. 4:05pm Newmarket - Nargys. 6/1 Ladbrokes.

Re: Flat Racing Wed 17th April 2013 13.45 Newmarket: Assembly, win (no prices yet) Assembly is making his debut today. He is a Kyllachy colt out of a Gone West mare. He is a full brother to Enact who won a decent class 3 handicap off a mark of 84, she placed in two listed races and she won on debut. He has the same sire and dam sire as three other horses, Pausanias, Zenella and Follow My Dream. Pausanias won a listed handicap at this meeting in 2011 and he placed in a group 3. He also won on debut. Zenella won a listed race and also won on debut. Follow My Dream's best run from four came on debut when she placed. Trainer William Haggas is 2 from 2 this month. William Buick is in the saddle. Trainer and jockey have a 25% SR together. 15.30 Newmarket: Emell, 4/1 Bet365, win Emell finished second lto in a listed race at Lingfield. That was his first run of the season and it should put him in top condition for today. All of his rivals are having their first run of the season today. He finished last season with a ½L second in a listed race at Doncaster. He is having his first start in a handicap today and he could be dangerous off bottom weight. Today's ground and trip will suit. Champion jockey Richard Hughes is in the saddle. 16.05 Newmarket: Lady Nouf, 8/1 Bet365, win Lady Nouf won her only race quite impressively last October. She was in mid division and started making progress 3f out. She got to the lead in the last furlong and finished well to win by a length. The form of that race has worked out well with second and third both winning nto, and then third finishing second in a listed race. She should improve a lot from that run and, although this is a big step up in class I think she will go close today. That was on good/soft ground and today's faster ground should be more suitable, going by sire stats. Trainer William Haggas is 2 from 2 this month. William Buick is in the saddle again having given her a cracking ride lto. Trainer and jockey have a 25% SR together. 16.40 Newmarket: Kerbaaj, 15/2 Bet365, win Kerbaaj won his only race back in July last year. He was held up and ran a bit green. He started to make progress over 2f out and he finished strongly to get to the lead close home and he won by ½L. There have been plenty of subsequent winners coming out of that race, although they haven't been above class 4. His finish the last day would suggest the 2f step up in trip today will suit. He should improve a lot from that run and, with his stable in fine form, he should be race fit. Paul Hanagan keeps the ride having been on board lto. 5.15 Newmarket: Space Ship, win (no prices yet) Space Ship finished second lto, finishing 1¾L behind the winner with 5L back to third. That was his first run of the season and he should come on a bit for that run. All of his rivals are having their first run of the season or they are making their debuts today. Lto was his first attempt at today's distance and it appeared to suit. Today's ground will be a lot better for him as his last race was on soft. The top class William Buick is in the saddle.
