CAULFIELD RACE 5 @ 3:10pm AEDT: The Bert Bryant Handicap is a 1000m Handicap for 3 year olds and upwards where the 3.80 favourite with Bet365 is AFRICAN PULSE. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: Looks mad speed in this as you would expect over the 1000m. FAB FEVOLA, GALBRAITH, DREAM FACE, look the first 3 in running from RESCUE MISSION, AFRICAN PULSE, and JAYCONI who won’t be far away. WINTER KING and STRATCOMBE next in line while the remainder of the field settle midfield and beyond in a race where settling off the speed might be advantageous barring track bias and luck. RACE ANALYSIS: This is a tough assignment. There is a mountain of speed horses engaged which has me searching for those coming off the speed. ESPRIT DE BULLET has tremendous ability and last preparation he finally put the score on the board under the training of John Hyam. He won 3 of his 5 starts after a bit of a run of outs in the two preparations prior, it ended with an open handicap victory, defeating RESCUE MISSION who went on to be Group 3 placed. He was meant to go around last week at Moonee Valley but was scratched at the barriers, this looks a more suitable assignment even though it is a tougher race. CAULFIELD RACE 6 @ 3:50pm AEDT: The Zaidee's Rainbow Foundation Victoria Handicap is a 1400m Group 3 race for 3 year olds and upwards where the 4.60 favourite with Bet365 is SERTORIOUS. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: Looks pretty good speed here with BUDRIGUEZ and BRITISH GENERAL looking for the lead and LAUNAY and SERITORIOUS not far away from them. UNDER THE EIFELL, SHOUT OUT LOUD and PARTHIAN camp behind the leading bunch with the remainder of the field settling midfield and beyond in a race where all runners will get their chance barring bad luck or track bias. RACE ANALYSIS: Another even race which looks the theme of the day at Caulfield. LAUNAY looks to be racing in career best form after two terrific runs this preparation. He was wide the entire trip first up in the Hereeba Stakes at Mornington and then went to his favourite track in Flemington where he sat just off the pace and ran down BRITISH GENERAL over the concluding stages despite carrying 4.5kgs more than him. Today he drops 2.5kgs back to 57kgs, is drawn wide but looks likely to be able to cross and sit handy to the speed and has a terrific record at the 1400m. UNDER THE EIFELL has strung two in a row together now and gets down in the weights. He had everything in his favour last week and was still almost nutted by BRITISH GENERAL who was 3 wide the entire trip.
