ROSEHILL RACE 6 @ 3:30pm AEDT: The Ranvet Stakes is a 2000m Group 1 race at Weight For Age conditions where the 3.2 favourite with Bet365 is FIVEANDAHALFSTAR. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: Doesn’t look to be huge pressure. FIVEANDAHALFSTAR goes forward with MOURINHO and probably SANGSTER; one of those 3 will lead. KELINNI and MAWINGO from good barriers settle handy while the remainder of the field settle midfield or beyond in a race that looks to suit the on-pacers. RACE ANALYSIS: FIVEANDAHALFSTAR comes back to Sydney after 3 excellent runs in Melbourne. After a brave run over the unsuitable trip of 1400m first up he stepped up to 1800m in the Autumn Classic where he met his fierce rival Super Cool. He led the field at an even tempo and Super Cool superior turn of foot was the difference over the concluding stages. He then stepped up to the 2000m of the Australia Cup, many doubters thought he’d been thrown into the deep end but with 300m to go in the race those who doubted the VRC Derby form where put in their place as the two 3 year olds fought out what was a stirring finale. Super Cool once again got the better of FIVEANDAHALFSTAR but they absolutely smashed the remainder of the field. Today he looks likely to get a soft run on the pace and he may have a fitness edge on his rivals with the run at 2000m under his belt. ROSEHILL RACE 7 @ 4:10pm AEDT: The Coolmore Classic is a 1500m Group 1 race for Fillies and Mares where the 5.5 favourite with Centrebet is NORZITA. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: Looks good speed here drawn inside and out. From the inside PEAR TART and STAR OF GISELLE push forward but they will most probably be passed by LONGPORT, DRIFONTEIN and STEPS IN TIME who are drawn wide. RED TRACER, NORZITA and STREAMER settle next in line while the remainder of the field settle midfield or beyond in a race where all horses will get there chance barring track bias or luck. RACE ANALYSIS: This looks impossible. So many winning chances and many of these fillies and mares are over the odds. APPEARANCE is still a bit underrated and the market tells us that with her being put up 15’s with some agencies. She was excellent first up over 1200m where she gave the eventual winner She’s Clean 5.5kgs and they went to the line pretty much together. She wasn’t suited in her next start when she was back in the field in what was a leader-dominated race. She drops 3.5kgs on that run, gets a tempo that should suit and comes into the race 3^rd up as she did when she took out the Myer Classic last Spring. FLYING SNITZEL was extraordinary last start when ridden cold. Her last 400m of the race was 0.62 quicker than the race favourite in this NORZITA and she meets her 2kgs better yet there is around 6 points between them in the betting.
