WARWICK FARM RACE 7 @ 4:50pm AEDT: The Challenge Stakes is a 1000m Group 2 race for 3 year olds and upwards where the 2.80 favourite with Bet365 is HAY LIST. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: The speed looks strong here with pace from inside and out. From the inside TIGER TEES, HAY LIST, and MRS ONASIS push forward and from the outside SNITZERLAND and HOWMUCHDOYOULOVE my try and boot across. SINGLE STYLE, DECISION TIME and FIRE THUNDERBOLT settle not too far away while the remainder of the field settles midfield or beyond in a race where all runners will get their chance barring track bias and luck. RACE ANALYSIS: Cracking race and great to see the return of champion sprinter HAY LIST who resumes after being out for the best part of a year. At weight for age over the 1000m from barrier 2 he does look the one to beat. His form around Black Caviar is far superior to anything in this race and the added bonus of drawing barrier 2 means you are basically betting against whether he is physically right after such a long time on the sidelines. I think the 2.80 Bet365 has on offer is about his right price but the market will tell you a lot come race day. FIRE THUNDERBOLT ran an absolute bottler first up last preparation over 1200m when wide the trip and loomed up to beat SNITZERLAND but the hard run told narrowly going down to the speedy filly. He was then poorly ridden in the Coolmore and poorly placed in the Patinack in his following starts. WARWICK FARM RACE 6 @ 4:10pm AEDT: The Royal Randwick Guineas is a 1600m G1 race for 3 year olds where 2.90 favourite with Bet365 is REBEL DANE. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: The speed looks pretty good here. CASINO SWOOP probably leads from PROISIR and TOUGHER THAN EVER. TATRA and ASHOKAN attempt to cross from wide barriers to find a position on the speed, while SHAWANO and FERLAX won’t be too far away. Looks a race where all horses will get their chance barring bad luck or track bias. RACE ANALYSIS: Top race. I’m pretty confident the form from the Hobartville will stand up here even though it was raced on a very heavy track. PROISIR was first up in the Hobartville and performed admirably settling on the speed and not shirking the issue one bit. He was beaten by his superstar stable mate Pierro and REBAL DANE who was 2^nd up but I’m expecting that run to bring him on nicely for this race. His form last preparation was terrific, ending in a brave run in the Cox Plate. Today he looks likely to be gifted the run of the race from the good gate and he’ll have a break on the closers in REBEL DANE and IT’S A DUNDEEL and be too good. REBEL DANE is a freakish talent who gets back in the run and shows a devastating burst over the concluding stages. His two runs back this preparation are proof that he is a top liner, firstly coming from a mile back in a slowly run race in the Royal Sovereign to win on the line and then just being nutted out by Pierro in the Hobartville again after getting back in the run.
