[h=1]Caulfield Betting: Little South Australian Miracle the one to beat in the Blue Diamond[/h] t499_1ee_175772-miracles-of-life.jpg CAULFIELD RACE 7 @ 4:00pm: The Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Stakes is a 1200m Group 1 2 year old race where the 3.4 favourite with Bet365 is GUELPH. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: Majority of Blue Diamonds are run at a fast tempo, the speed in this looks good without being out of control. 3 horses will contest the lead, they are METASTASIO, MONTSEGUR and THE BOWLER. SEAMUS AWARD and MIRACLES OF LIFE settle next in line from good barriers with KONA BREEZE and possibly THERMAL CURRENT behind them. The rest will settle midfield or beyond due to barrier draws or there racing patterns in a race where all horses should get their chance barring bad luck and track bias. RACE ANALYSIS: Terrific edition of the Blue Diamond. MIRACLES OF LIFE could not have been more impressive in winning her first 3 career starts. She romped in on debut by near 6 lengths sitting just off the speed and sprinting away from a mediocre field in the straight. She then did the same but even more impressively to win by 9 lengths at Morphettville. Her biggest test to date was next when she faced the Blue Diamond Preview field over the 1000m. She settled midfield this day and by the top of the straight she was the only horse you wanted to be on. She bolted away from her rivals to win by 4.3L in a time that was not only quicker than the colts and geldings but was also quicker than the open class sprinters, including Rescue Mission who went on to be Group placed in his next start. She has drawn barrier 1 which on first thoughts, looks a tad tricky but she could well use her gate speed here and get the box seat and having a start on her rivals with her acceleration could be a massive asset. http://www.betzone.com.au/caulfield-betting-little-south-australian-miracle-the-one-to-beat-in-the-blue-diamond

Re: Caulfield Betting 23rd Feb 2013 [h=1]Caulfield Betting: Little grey filly to give the MRC members much joy in the the D'Urban Angus Armanasco Stakes[/h] t500_2fb_004614-members-joy.jpg CAULFIELD RACE 3 @ 1:20pm AEDT: The D'Urban Angus Armanasco Stakes is a 1400m Group 2 race for 3 year old fillies where the 3.0 favourite with Sportsbet is MEMBERS JOY. HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: Doesn’t seem a huge amount of speed on paper. MELIORA probably leads uncontested and then next in line is a bit of the guess. RED FEZ might be the one who pushes forward with MEMBERS JOY if she jumps cleanly. SUMMER GEM and BALACLAVA LADY are probably resigned to settling off the pace as that is there normal race pattern and they are both drawn wide. Looks a race where on-pacers might be advantaged. RACE ANALYSIS: MEMBERS JOY looks the one to beat here. She comes into this race 3rd up after two terrific runs. The first of which was over the unsuitable 1000m journey against the older horses where she settled back and wide and kept making ground in the straight to finish a close up 4th. The form out of that race has proved solid with Rescue Mission placing at Group 3 level in his next start. She was then back to 3 year old fillies’ grade next start when she jumped awkwardly but mustered speed to settle midfield on the rails. She got the breaks at the right time in the straight and was charging home but just failed to catch Octavia who was carrying 2.5kgs less and had a fair bit of racing on her side. Today she steps up to 1400m, a distance that she is looking for, regains the services of in-form champion jockey Glen Boss and only has to give rivals a 1.5kgs advantage despite being 12 handicapper ratings points from her nearest rival. http://www.betzone.com.au/caulfield-betting-little-grey-filly-to-give-the-mrc-members-much-joy-in-the-the-d-urban-angus-armanasco-stakes
