The format is a bit funny 2 groups of 5 teams top 3 qualify then the final six go to play a round robin. So a lot of games. Brazil were favourites and have easily the strongest squad on paper but have only 1 point after 2 games. Argentina also were expected to do well but have lost there first 2 games. All thoughts welcome. to me Venezuala look a good outside bet.

Re: South American U20 championships in Argentina I've been watching some of these games. At the moment, Argentina and Brazil are struggling. In general, the outsiders have out-performed - it looks as though they are more motivated. Odds are still pretty high on the outsiders though, so I would say there is some value in backing them. Each country has enough skill to score against another team from what I've seen - through a combination of speed and individual skill. There have been some great long-range goals.

Re: South American U20 championships in Argentina Argentina U20 v Colombia U20 tonight (Thursday) I quite like over 2.5 goals @ 1.75 with Pinnacle. Depending on the earlier Paraguay v Bolivia result, Argentina either have to win, or will be playing for a consolation. Colombia looked very good on the counter attack in their last game, so I think overs looks quite likely here and the odds seem quite good.

Argentina U20 v Colombia U20 tonight (Thursday) I quite like over 2.5 goals @ 1.75 with Pinnacle. Depending on the earlier Paraguay v Bolivia result, Argentina either have to win, or will be playing for a consolation. Colombia looked very good on the counter attack in their last game, so I think overs looks quite likely here and the odds seem quite good.

Argentina U20 3 Colombia U20 2 Argentina, already eliminated before the game, finally produce a decent performance. Colombia, already qualified, played a lot of reserve players, and were unimpressive in the first half, but improved a lot in the second half when they threw on some subs.

The revealing thing was that the big prize they were all competing for wasn't to win this tournament, but to qualify for the Under 20 World Cup. This is being held in Turkey in the summer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_FIFA_U-20_World_Cup The four team that qualified were: Colombia Paraguay Uruguay Chile Peru impressed me and were a bit unlucky not to qualify. Argentina and Brazil were big disappointments. The smaller countries really raised their game, but the big two countries seemed to think they could win without playing their best and were deservedly knocked out.
