More times than not runs a shocker, so has to be taken on trust, but it is fair to say it is extremely well handicapped now. It is 13 pounds lower than that great run in the Scottish National behind Merigo, now off 119, and it's last win was off a mark of 127, so if it can get a nice steady gallop and stay out of trouble, this horse should do well at the finish off such a low weight over this marathon trip.

2.15 Catterick: North Yorkshire Grand National Handicap Chase (Class3)(3m6f) Wide open handicap as you would expect, the favourite Pentiffic will have his followers especially with the form the trainer is in at the moment, he looks poor value to me at around 9/2 but I am interested in two other runners making the long trip up to Catterick. Any Currency has a live chance despite top weight and seems a more consistent horse since the eye shield has been applied. AP makes a rare visit to the track and the hint should be taken. Jaunty Journey seems sure to run his usual game race for the Twiston-Davies yard and is an each way alternative. Selections; 2pts Any Currency 15/2
