BBOTD Wednesday 9th January

3:35 Ludlow - Tornant - 1pt Win (6/1, Bet365) Backed this horse last time out at Ffos Las where it competed on heavy going which as silly as it sounds may have been understated as it was a complete bog that day and horses did well to get round. This horse however that day seemed to relish it, travelling well throughout it's race and was given a tender ride (not in an accusing way of putting that) by Paul Moloney as the pace set throughout seemed to be fairly fast considering the ground and this horse looks to be a stayer, plugging away after jumping it's fences and looking in need of a stamina test. The front two in the market and race positions that day seemed to have a lot more in hand than their marks and when the race was gone Moloney let this horse jump it's fences without too much of a hurry up and let it come home in it's own time. This horse seems to jump it's fences well enough and considering it's now been dropped 4 pound for that run which looks fairly lenient and Conor Ring takes off another 3 pound with his claim, a 7 pound drop for that race in theory looks lenient and shouldn't be a 6/1 chance in my book in what looks a weaker race tomorrow. The ground hopefully should be better than the bog it raced on at Ffos Las and despite Williams having two in this race, hopefully this will be his best chance of a win from the two.

Re: BBOTD Wednesday 9th January 18.10 - Captain Kendall @ 5/2 Bet365 Not a great price by any means but Captain Kendall should take a fair amount of beating i feel. Got off the mark in a maiden last time and although it was a poor race, he won in good style. I think the key to his good performance was the drop back in trip to 6f, he was slightly dissapointing on his return from a long break in his previous run which came over 1m and looked much fresher lto. Goes into a handicap now off a mark of 61 which looks lenient on the face of his last run, and still very unexposed with only 5 career starts to date. Yard started the year in good form and Luke Morris booked to ride again.
