[h=1]Caulfield Betting: Glen Boss to continue his outstanding start to 2013 with Apres in the Robert Hunter Handicap[/h] CAULFIELD RACE 7 @ 4:50pm AEDT: The Robert Hunter Handicap is a 2000m race for horses rated between 0-82 where WHISPER DOWNS is the 2.80 favourite with Centrebet HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: Looks high speed on paper here. Up to 5 horses could lead this event which should create a genuine tempo, those horses are KINGS A STAR, NOW AND ZEN, TUBE, MILENSNAKE, and BEER GARDEN. CRAWFISH, MIDNIGHT GLORY and APRES settle behind that bunch with GOGONSKI and WHISPER DOWNS behind them. Looks a race where settling off the speed could be advantageous barring track bias and luck in running. RACE ANALYSIS: APRES ticks a lot of boxes here and looks the one to beat. He has been up for a long time but his last 3 runs suggest he is going better now than at any other point of his preparation. After a couple of luckless runs at 0-82 races he dropped back to a 0-78 race and won easily over the 2000m journey. He was then stepped up in distance to 2500m where he carried 60kg and had little luck yet still found the line strongly over the concluding stages to finish just 0.3 lengths from the winner. Re: Caulfield Betting 5th January 2013 [h=1]Caulfield Betting: Two bet race in the John Moule Handicap with Tariana and Follonica the ones to beat[/h] CAULFIELD RACE 6 @ 4:10pm AEDT: The John Moule Handicap is a 1200m race for fillies and mares rated between 0-89 where TARIANA is the 3.50 favourite with Bet365 HOW THE RACE WILL BE RUN: The speed is ok but there is only one genuine leader in TARIANA. There are quite a few however that like to race handy to the speed including GO KATRINA, FOLLONICA, MUSIC SHOP, and to a lesser extent VAIN ATTRACTION (may settle close from the gate) and SPORT CHIC (leads over further but has drawn well and has Glen Boss on board). The rest will settle midfield and beyond in a race where all horses should get there chance barring bad luck and track bias. RACE ANALYSIS: TARIANA has come back terrifically this preparation and looks to have struck another winnable race here. She resumed at Caulfield on a day where leaders were at a severe disadvantage with the strong head wind causing havoc. She led into the headwind with 58kg on her back and wasn’t run down until the final 1000m where she finished a gallant 4^th. She then stayed at her home track of Caulfield and led from barrier to post in a swift time that was only 0.5 of a second slower than the Listed Christmas Handicap.
