Handicapper gives him chances and if Bridgewater has got him ready, then no reason why he cannot go in at a decent price. Handles heavy ground and the trip's fine. 9/1 William Hill (bog)

Re: Jump Racing - Monday 31st December. decided to look at one race as i'm doing nothing today and should have been working on the Cheltenham card for tomorrow which is now off sadly 3.10 3m handicap hurdle c5 You are going to need to stay in botttomless ground on this one. Front runners seem to be doing well today so musgt be up with the pace. McCoy already had a double on the card. Lets look at each runner Sangfroid - last win 3 and a half years ago off a 15lb higher mark. Looking through the form, only 1 decent run in Jan 2011 on heavy ground when 3rd in a C2 hurdle behind Mobaasher at Warwick Verdict: plenty short enough at 4/1 for a horse that rarely troubles the judge and has to shoulder top weight today Ballysands - hadnt run since 2010 but reappeared 9 days ago tailed off at Ascot btn 92l. A little bit of form on heavy back in 09 but no form to speak of. Verdict: a quick reappearance but lacking in any decent form to play a major part MIdnight belle - despite Trainer Symonds having a couple of winners lately, this one showed no form in last 2 races on heavy ground. Verdict: No hope it seems Whenever - won off a mark of 100 in MArch of this year and rarely runs on ground this soft but did win on soft on 2nd ever race many moons ago. Has 5 career wins s capable if fit and stays Verdict: May be one for the placings Gwladys street - no proof it stays this sort of trip so price looks a bit short for this one Verdict: no value in a horse that may not stay MOntys revenge - won on boxing day in a 3 runner race at Towcester and does stay the distance Verdict: Back over hurdles can take advantage of the lower mark and looks the one to be on Gemini ahhs - Interesting runner back from hunting, formerly with NTD and had snippets of form but they were 3 years ago Hectors house - will like the ground and has champ on board. Seems to like the softer ground conditions also, 1 win in 30 attempts though shows the ability! Montys revenge could have it all its own way here and if the conditional is any good, should take this 9/2 taken :)
