RACE ANALYSIS: Extremely tough race with many winning hopes. UNDENIABLY showed he might be back to some of his best form last start with a fast finishing 2^nd to his stable mate in Catapulted. He showed no gate speed and with 600m to go he was 2-3 lengths off the second last horse before making substancial ground before the straight and then in the straight he grew wings to pass all horse bar Catapulted. Admittedly it was a day where the back markers where advantaged due to the howling head wind but this was a sign that this horse has come back to the form that saw him start favourite in an Oakleigh Plate.

TARIANA should lead this comfortably, OAMURU ROSE has a habit of missing the start, if she doesn’t miss it she will go forward also. The rest of the field like settling midfield or beyond, the favourite in VAIN ATTRACTION might settle handier than normal as a result of there be only two on-pacers in the race. It looks a race where the horses racing on speed will be advantaged. RACE ANALYSIS: This looks a perfect race for TARIANA to open her winning account this preparation. She resumed 3 weeks ago at this track and distance and she faced an uphill task from the outset as the track was favouring horses that were coming from back in the field and wide due to the strong headwind. She led up the field with the top weight of 58kg and it wasn’t until the shadows of the post that she got collared, only finishing 1.8 lengths away from the eventual winner in VAIN ATTRACTION who carried 3.5kgs less and got the perfect run in transit.
