Non progressive stakes V progressive stakes

A log for assessing various staking strategies (similar to my 'Four banks - four betting strategies' thread here in the GH section). I'll be comparing three non progressive staking strategies with their progressive counterparts with this GH. Essentially, this will be using six different staking strategies each with their own banks, where the different stakes will be applied to the same set of selections to see how each strategy compares with each other. The points awarded from each strategy will be consolidated into one stake, which will then be placed with various bookmakers. It will also contain elements of money management with topping up/withdrawals from banks etc. The staking strategies used are: Non progressive staking

Level stakes

- stake based on placing 300 bets at S/R of 30% and using estimated losing runs, to calculate the stake at 8pts per bet (3.2% of starting bank). Size of starting bank - 250pts.

Level profits

- target profit will be 5% of starting bank or 12.5pts profit, max bet to be set at 12.5pts @ 1/1. Size of starting bank - 250pts.

Kelly staking

- not linked to the size of bank, points can range from 0pts to 100pts per bet, where the stake will equal calculated edge. Size of starting bank - 100pts.

Progressive staking

Level stakes

- linked to the size of bank. This also goes by the name 'percentage staking'. The stake will be 3.2% of the current bank. Size of starting bank - 250pts.

Level profits

- linked to the size of bank. The target will be set at 5% of the current bank, max bet to be set at 5% @ 1/1. Size of starting bank - 250pts.

Kelly staking

- linked to the size of bank. Points can range from 0% up to 100% of the bank per bet, where the stake will equal calculated edge as a percentage of current bank. Size of starting bank 100pts.

NB - With the Kelly staking, if a negative edge is calculated then no points will be awarded from these banks. When this happens a No Bet situation will occur with these two strategies, but the other four strategies will still be used. I may also post lay bets, place bets or E/way bets too, although E/way bets are not implemented in the detailed results! While the lay bet odds will likely be converted to the back odds equivalent in the detailed results. Some notes on Post #2 (Detailed results). Post #2 of this thread contains the detailed results/stats for this GH. It has six 'dynamic' iframes connected to a Google spreadsheet which update when I update the spreadsheet. Frame #1 contains the bets/results I have placed so far in a list format, it also contains the stakes used (both consolidated and for the six individual strategies) for anyone to read/check, along with the current state of the bank. Use the scrollbars to move through the list, as the enire list won't be immediately viewable. Frame #2 contains the current stats for this GH. No. of bets, strike rate, total staked etc are in the top three blocks. The bottom six blocks contains stats from each individual strategy. Frames #3, #4, #5 and #6 contains in a graphical format, the state of the banks over the number of bets placed. The blue lines in each graph represent the non progressive banks, while the red lines represent the progressive banks (Frame #6 contains the consolidated banks graph).
