DAME CLAIRE will lead and ensure a good gallop from MOURAYAN. EXCEPTIONALLY settled handy in the Lexus and she may come across from barrier 8 and do the same. The rest will settle midfield or beyond in a race that may suit the on-pacers. RACE ANALYSIS: Small but good field for this years Zipping Classic. MOURAYAN looks the standout after a brave run in the Melbourne Cup. He was given every opportunity in the race by jockey Hugh Bowman but just lacked the necessary class to win the Group 1 staying event. He is far better suited in this race where at weight for age he looks the clear pick. His weight for age form at this level is terrific, winning the Craven Plate two starts ago and only going down marginally to Lamesary in the Hill Stakes three starts ago. He was within 0.9 of a length of Americain in this race last year, he’ll be right on the pace which looks the place to be, this is only the 5th run of his campaign so he shouldn’t be burnt out and Hugh Bowman sticks with him as he has done in his last 3 starts. http://www.betzone.com.au/sandown-park-hillside-betting-mourayan-to-prove-to-classy-in-the-zipping-classic

Re: Sandown Park Hillside Betting 17/11/2012 [h=1]Sandown Park Hillside Betting: The Queensland grey looks great each way value in the Eclipse Stakes[/h] t402_7d1_416432-grey-assignment.jpg [TABLE=width: 434]

STAR OF GISELLE looks gifted the lead again with GREY ASSIGNMENT not far away in 2nd. KASANE, TAI TAI TESS and NICONOISE can settle next in line from good barriers. The rest of the field settle midfield or beyond in a race where settling on the speed could be advantageous. RACE ANALYSIS: Looks an on-pacers race with only two genuine go forward horses engaged. GREY ASSIGNMENT was brave at Flemington with 59.5kg going down in the last stride to ÉCLAIR SURPRISE who he meets today 1.5kg better. He has been up since May but is showing no sign he’s had enough this preparation running in the top 2 in his last 7 starts. I think he’ll stalk the leader STAR OF GISELLE and be too strong over the concluding stages as he has a terrific record at the distance whereas STAR OF GISELLE is unproven. She may be unproven at the distance but she is absolutely flying. She’s won her last 3 in exactly the same fashion, dictating from the front and I see no reason why she won’t try and do the same thing here. http://www.betzone.com.au/sandown-park-hillside-betting-the-queensland-grey-looks-great-each-way-value-in-the-eclipse-stakes
